CALCULATE GESTATION PERIODS & FIRSTRETURNDATES:
Organise Your Breeding allows for all users of the app tocalculatethe gestation period of a certain cow as well as theirfirst returndate (gestation period of 283 days and cycle period of21 days).This is all calculated automatically the only piece ofinformationthat the user needs to put into the phone is the dateofinsemination. The user simply clicks 'Calculate Calving Date' andapop up box will appear with the calving date and first returndateclearly labelled.


SAVE & DELETE CATTLE FROM THE DATABASE:
Once you have calculated the calving date and first return dateofyour cow, you are then able to save it to the database whichisbuilt into the app. Whether you have a small herd and yourecordyour cows by name or a large herd and record your cows by anumberor ear tag you can save either one into the database. Onceyou haveentered the name or number into the text field andcalculated thedates the 'Save to Database' button will appear and amessage willappear confirming the cow has successfully been enteredinto thedatabase. If you wish to delete cattle records previouslysaved tothe database, it is easy, simply go to the home screen andclick onthe 'Delete Cattle' button and all cattle saved to thedatabasewill appear, simply click on your preferred cow and allrecordswill be deleted from the database.


RECALL DATA WHENEVER YOU NEED IT:
When the user has saved all of the cattle into the databasethroughthe 'Calving Calculator' the user is then able to recall allofthis data when ever you need to right from their phone. Byclickingon the 'View Saved Cattle' button on the home screen of theappallows the user view all cattle which are saved to theappsdatabase under their specified ID number or name. The user canthenclick on the specific cow in which they want to recall thedatesfor and they will appear under all of their calving dates. Toviewinsemination dates and return dates in relation to thespecifiedcalving date the user can click on the calving date andtheinsemination date and first return date will appear. Finally,ifthe user wishes to delete just one calving date this canbeachieved through clicking the delete button when theinseminationand return dates are recalled.

This is important because somecows have shorter or longer gestation periods than the general 283days. In the calving calculator, when the 'Calculate Calving Date'is pressed a pop up box will appear asking the user to enter theirown gestation period or simply use the default period of 283 days.This allows for the farmers to better manage their cattle and havethem checked on the days that they are more likely to calve.SAVE SIRES, BULLS OR BREEDS:The Pro Version also allows for the sire, bull or breed to be savedto the database. All the user simply has to do is enter the sire,bull or breed into the entry text box and the sire/bull/breed willbe saved to the database along with all other relevant informationin regards to the calf the cow is due to have.NOTIFICATIONS OF WHEN A COW IS DUE BACK ON HEAT OR WHEN ONE IS DUETO CALVE:The most significant part of the Pro Version is the ability to setnotifications, which notify you of cows back on heat and ones dueto calve to a certain time each day. These notifications are linkedto the database so when a cow is due on heat or is due to calve in7 days, a notification will appear at the chosen time on yourphone. The time can be set to correspond with important jobs forthe day, for instance the morning milking when a person can go andcheck the specified cow in the notification. These notificationswill appear on the approximate day in which the cow is due back onheat (approximately 21 days after insemination) and 7 days beforethe cow is due to calve so you can have the cow in a place whereyou can easily keep and eye on her. Finally, once the cow hasreached her return day and she does not come on heat, a check boxcan be selected, stating that the cow is on calf and no morenotifications of the cow coming back on heat will appear andproviding a record of the cow being successfully in calf.EMAIL THE DATABASE:This Pro Version also allows for users to email the whole databaseconsisting of all of the cows that the user have saved to thedatabase. The database is emailed as a .csv file so it can beopened by most spreadsheet applications such as Excel on your phoneor computer. This part of the app can be particularly useful forfarmers if they are having a herd manager looking at their herd,all the user has to do is enter the herd managers email into thephone and it can be sent straight away, so the herd manager cananalyse the herd even before he arrives on farm.SEARCH DATABASE WITH A COW ID:The user can also search the database quickly and easily for a cowthrough clicking on the search button in the action bar. Thissearch searches the database for the cow and then displays allrelevant information of that cow.
