The tenon-and-mortise joint structure asthe essenceof traditional Chinese furniture and architecture hasalwaysattracted my curiosity. I collected some literature onarchitectureand furniture and many e-books on the tenon-and-mortisejointstructure online. The delicacy and beauty oftenon-and-mortisejoints are truly appealing and stunning.But a question remains. The tenon-and-mortise joint in booksaretwo dimensional drawings. One has to use one’s imaginationstoreconstruct these into a three dimensional structure. Thesimpleones are easier to understand.
