Hinamatsuri, also called Doll's DayorGirls'Day, is a special day in Japan. [1] Hinamatsuri iscelebratedeachyear on March 3. TheShimogamo Shrine (part of the Kamo Shrinecomplex inKyoto)celebrates the Nagashibina by floating these dollsbetweentheTakano and Kamo Rivers to pray for the safety ofchildren.Peoplehave stopped doing this now because of fishermencatching thedollsin their nets.
