"بعد أن خرجنا من السرداب كان الوضع كالأتي: (عماد) تكوّم وحده فيأحدىزوايا البيت والمصحف لا يفارق يده ينظر إلى الجدار دائماً والصمتهوصديقه !و (رانية) كلما تفيق من غيبوبتها تصرخ وتبكي !تارة تقولكلامغير مفهوم وتارةً أخرى تقول كلام مفهوم كـ سنموت و لن نذوق طعمالنوم!لم نفتح القبو من بعدها كنّا دائماً نتجاهل أي صوت قادم منالسردابوأي طرق على بابه ولكنّي الآن أعرف ما سأفعل !سأذهب إلى أيشخصٍ يجيداللغة السيرينية لأعرف ماتحويه تلك الورقة ومامعناها ربما !ينتهي هذاالأمر ! ولكنّي قبل ذلك كنت أريد معرفة قصة هذا السرداب قبلأي شيء !مالذي آتى بتلك التوابيت إلى هنا ؟ولماذا (رانية) هي الوحيدةالتي سمعتورأت !؟أنا سمعت ! ولكنّي لم ارى أي شيء مما قالته (رانية)! سألت(عماد) عن قصة السرداب وعن كل الأسئلة التي تدور برأسي!"
