Assembléia de DeusA Assembleia de Deus chegou ao Brasil por intermédiodosmissionários suecos Gunnar Vingren e Daniel Berg, que aportaramemBelém, capital do Estado do Pará, em 19 de novembro de 1910,vindosdos Estados Unidos. A princípio, frequentaram a IgrejaBatista,denominação a que ambos pertenciam nos Estados Unidos.Osmissionários suecos traziam a doutrina do batismo noEspíritoSanto, com a glossolalia — o falar em línguasespirituais(estranhas) — como a evidência de manifestações que jávinhamocorrendo em reuniões de oração nos Estados Unidos e tambémdeforma isolada em outros países, principalmente naquelas queeramconduzidas por Charles Fox Parham, mas teve seu apogeu atravésdeum de seus principais discípulos, um pastor leigo negro,chamadoWilliam Joseph Seymour, na rua Azusa, Los Angeles, em1906.[2]A nova doutrina trouxe divergência. Enquanto um grupoaderiu,outro rejeitou. Assim, em duas assembleias distintas,conformerelatam as atas das sessões[3] , os adeptos dopentecostalismoforam desligados e, em 18 de junho de 1911[4] [5] ,juntamente comos missionários estrangeiros, fundaram uma novaigreja e adotaram onome de Missão de Fé Apostólica, que já eraempregado pelomovimento de Los Angeles, mas sem qualquer vínculoadministrativocom William Joseph Seymour. A partir de então,passaram a reunir-sena casa de Celina de Albuquerque. Mais tarde,em 18 de janeiro de1918 a nova igreja, por sugestão de GunnarVingren, passou achamar-se Assembleia de Deus, em virtude dafundação dasAssembleias de Deus nos Estados Unidos, em 1914, emHotSprings,Arkansas, mas, sem qualquer ligação institucionalentreambas as igrejas.A Assembleia de Deus no Brasil expandiu-se pelo estado doPará,alcançando o Amazonas e propagou-se para o Nordeste,principalmenteentre as camadas mais pobres da população. Chegou aoSudeste pelosidos de 1922, através de famílias de retirantes doPará, que seportavam como instrumentos voluntários para estabelecera novadenominação aonde quer que chegassem. Nesse ano, a igrejateveinício no Rio de Janeiro, no bairro de São Cristóvão, eganhouimpulso com a transferência de Gunnar Vingren, de Belém, em1924,para a então capital da República. Um fato que marcou aigrejanaquele período foi a conversão através de um folhetoevangelísticode Paulo Leivas Macalão, filho de um general eprecursor do assimconhecido Ministério de Madureira.A influência sueca teve forte peso na formaçãoassembleianabrasileira, em razão da nacionalidade de seusfundadores, e porqueà igreja pentecostal escandinava,principalmente a IgrejaFiladélfia de Estocolmo, que, além de terassumido nos anosseguintes o sustento de Gunnar Vingren e DanielBerg, enviou outrosmissionários para dar suporte aos novos membrosem seu papel defazer crescer a nova Igreja. Desde 1930, quando serealizou umconcílio da igreja na cidade de Natal, a Assembleia deDeus noBrasil passou a ter autonomia interna, sendoadministradaexclusivamente pelos pastores residentes no Brasil, semcontudoperder os vínculos fraternais com a igreja na Suécia. Apartir de1936 a igreja passou a ter maior colaboração dasAssembleias deDeus dos Estados Unidos através dos missionáriosenviados ao país,os quais se envolveram de forma mais direta com aestruturaçãoteológica da denominação.Assembly of GodThe Assembly of God arrived in Brazil through theSwedishmissionaries Daniel Berg and Gunnar Vingren, who arrived inBelém,Pará State capital, on November 19, 1910, from the UnitedStates.In principle, attended the Baptist Church, a denominationthat bothbelonged in the United States. He came to Southeastgoneby 1922, through migrants families of Pará, which is carriedasvoluntary instruments to establish the new name wherever itcame.This year, the church began in Rio de Janeiro, in theneighborhoodof Saint Kitts and gained momentum with the transfer ofGunnarVingren of Bethlehem in 1924 to the then capital of theRepublic.
