Description

The New Macedonia Baptist Church was organizedon Wednesday, January 1, 1958 by founders, Reverend H. C. Mack,Reverend Lorenzo Young, and a few members from New Southern RockBaptist Church. Reverend Lorenzo Young was appointed as the Pastorwith church services being held at 5th and P Streets in thenorthwest corridor of Washington, DC. The church was incorporatedon March 25, 1958 by the Government of the District of Columbia.The first officers of the church included, Deacon William Duncanand Deacon Melvin Alexander, Trustee W.B. Munford and TrusteeEdward Jones. The Faithful Gospel Chorus – the church’s first choir- was soon organized and consisted of one faithful member, the lateSister Minnie Walker. Later, Reverend Moore was appointed asAssistant Pastor of the church.

It is our purpose to win people to Christ (evangelism) anddevelop them to spiritual maturity (discipleship); whilecultivating relationships with one another (fellowship); allowingthem to visibly express God’s love to others (service) in order tomagnify God’s name (worship). To ensure we fulfill our purpose,Pastor Walker has placed ministry leaders to oversee each of thesefive key areas; those who are skilled and gifted in their focus todevelop programs that will allow us to continue to experiencegrowth as we demonstrate God’s love and disciple God’s people!

Living Waters Christian Fellowship, FountainValley CA with Senior Pastor Don Moore.LWCF was established in February of 1973 with a total attendanceof 27 people. Our congregation first met at Faith Lutheran Churchin Huntington Beach, California. We broke ground at our two acresite in the spring of 1973 and began construction of the firstsanctuary in July of 1974. In June of 1979 Pastors Dan and FinnabeaMoore accepted the ministry call to Living Waters. Pastor Danbelieved that God had given him a mandate to reach the lost andscattered sheep of Orange County. In 1984 construction began on ourpresent sanctuary, and in 1992, with over 300 in attendance,construction of our education and office building began. Two yearslater the construction was completed and the building wasdedicated. The congregation then cancelled its debt ofapproximately $850,000 in 1998. Today, 30 years later, by the graceof God and the diligence of the Living Waters Family, we are avibrant church with over 900 in attendance, committed to excellenceand integrity through Care and Development, Global Evangelism,Christian Education, and the Worship Environment. None of this isas exciting as the prospect of our future.
