Krellansarewarm-blooded humanoids and as a race are extremely aggressiveandcourageous. They live to conquer and eradicate theweakerintelligent species from the galaxy, except for use astheirslaves. Krellans do have a strong sense of honor and duty. ForaKrellan to die in battle is the greatest honor of all. Thus theoldKrellan motto: “To live is to conquer and to conquer is tolive!”This philosophy that is ingrained in their society and taughttothem from birth is what makes them such a dangerous enemy.Untiltheir stunning setback in Galactic War I, when they werehumbled bythe UGA, they had never known defeat. That is why theyare consumedby a burning obsession for revenge during the currentwar.Star Fleet Deluxe (SFD) is set in the time period betweenStarFleet I, in which the 36 UGA Invincible-class heavy cruisersfirstencountered the Krellan Piranha-class destroyers, and StarFleetII, which is the full-blown invasion of UGA space using theentiremight of the Krellan fleet, including troopships for invadingUGAplanets. In SFD the UGA still only has its individualheavycruisers to throw at the invasion, but they are now faced withthesecond attack wave of the Krellans. This wave has supplementedthedestroyer scouts with battle fleets, each of which consists ofapowerful Klagar-class battlecruiser with four destroyerescorts,and supply fleets, each consisting of a Nebula-class supplyshipwith one or more destroyer escorts. As before, individualZaldronships with their cloaking devices add an additionaldangerouselement to the struggle. Star Fleet I was set entirely intheexploration zone of the UGA. By the time of SFD, the Krellanshavedriven the UGA ships back into the Defensive Zone, andtheirobjective during the game is to reach and destroy the coloniesinthe Colonial Zone. Following this second wave of attack shipswillbe a third wave of invasion fleets to actually invade andconquerthe UGA colonies and planets deeper in UGA space. In SFD,your aimis to stop the Krellan attack and drive them out of UGAterritory.At this stage of the Krellan master invasion plan, theyare notready for a do or die attack. Their overall strategicobjective ismore than just destroying a few starbases and colonies,so theywill retreat if they perceive that you have gotten the upperhandand their losses will be excessive if they continue.Your mission in SFD is to take command of a UGAInvincible-classheavy cruiser and defend the 81 quadrants of anassigned region ofspace against the expected Krellan attack. Youare to protect anycolonies within your assigned region until themain UGA fleet canarrive to relieve you. If possible, you are tonot only stop theKrellan and Zaldron invaders, but are to drivethem back out of theregion. For your support there will be a numberof Guardian-classstarbases located in the defensive
