The stunnedcontractor took a gun and shot thesnake.Soon after, the contractorand his workers fell ill.Afterconsulting a spiritual medium, thecontractor was informed thathehad done injustice by mining on thehill. The sacred hill wasthedwelling of Nagamma, who frequentedthe hill in the form ofyoungsnakes and maiden ladies. To repentthis injustice, thecontractorwas instructed by the medium to carryout prayers forNagamma atVictoria hill. During the prayer, a mangot into a tranceandstarted moving like a snake. He slitheredacross the ground toaparticular location. He then advised thecontractor to buildatemple for Nagamma at that location.
