Sūrat al-Wāqiʻah (Arabic: سورة الواقعة‎; "The Inevitable"or"TheEvent") is the 56th surah (chapter) of the Quran. It wasrevealedin Mecca (see Meccan surah). The total number of verses inthissurah are 96. Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (a.s.) said that the onewhorecites surah al-Waqi'ah will have a shining face of the DayofReckoning. ImamAliZainul Abideen (A.s.) has narrated that if a person recitesthissurah (at night) on the first night of the lunar month andthencontinues to recite the same surah, increasing the number oftimesto coincide with the date, such that on the tenth night herecitesit ten times, until the fourteenth night, then hissustenance willincrease greatly.
