Şüphesiz ki namaz hayasızlıktan vekötülükten alıkoyar. Allah'ı anmak elbette en büyük ibadettir.Allah yaptıklarınızı bilir."Âyette hayasızlık ve kötülük diye tercüme edilen "fahşâ" ve"münker" kelimelerinin anlamı daha kapsamlıdır. Fuhşiyat, açıktanve alenî işlenilen bütün çirkinlikleri, edepsizlikleri ve ahlâkdışı davranışları ifade eden bir kelimedir. Münker de, aklın veşerîatın beğenmediği bütün uygunsuz davranışları ve günahları ifadeiçin kullanılır. Öncelikle namaz içinde böyle şeyler yapılmaz, onungerektirdiği bütün edeplere uyularak namaz kılınır. Gerçektenşuurla ve hakikatına erilerek, farkında olunarak, ne olduğubilinerek kılınan bir namaz, namaz dışında da insanı her türlüçirkinlikten, uygunsuz davranıştan, edep dışı hareketlerdenalıkoyar. Onun için Resûl-i Ekrem Efendimiz: "Kim namaz kılar da onamaz kendisini hayasızlıktan ve kötülükten alıkoymazsa, o namazolsa olsa onun Allah'tan daha fazla uzaklaşmasını sağlar"buyurmuştur (Münâvî, Feyzü'l-kadîr, VI, 221). Kur'an'ın namazlailgili birçok âyeti vardır. Nevevî'nin konuyla ilgili olarak sadecebu âyetle yetinmesinin sebebi, onun kapsayıcılığından olsagerektir.2. "Namazlara, özellikle orta namaza devam ediniz."Bakara sûresi (2), 238Beş vakit namazı eksiksiz kılmak ve bunu ara vermeksizin yapmakgerekir. Çünkü âyetteki muhafaza kelimesi namazların eksiksiz, enmükemmel şekilde ve vaktinde kılınması gibi özellikleri kapsamınaalır. Ayrıca bütün rükünlerini ve şartlarını da yerine getirereknamaz kılmamız icap eder. Zira âyetin devamındaki "Allah için boyuneğerek kalkın namaza durun" emri bunu gerektirir. Burada geçenkunut tabiri, taati, huşûu, boyun eğmeyi ve ayakta durmayı ifadeeder ki, dilimizde buna divan durmak denir.
