الهيب هوب بالإنجليزية Hip hop هو أحد أنواع الموسيقى والثقافة فيالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية

فالهيب هوب يعتبر حركة ثقافية للسود في أمريكا أو الأمريكيينالأفارقة وهم الأمريكيون من أصول أفريقية وقد بدأت منذ عام 1970 ونشأتكرد فعل لما تعرضوا له من العنصرية ولإظهار ثقافة وفن مستقل فيهموكنوع من التعبير عن انفسهم وعن المشاكل من الفقر والبطالة والعنصريةوالظلم

والهيب هوب لها سمعة سيئة في أوساط الأمريكيين البيض حيث العديدمنهم يعتقدون أنه يتكون من الفاحشة والعنف ومناهضة البيض والنساءوالحقيقة الملاحظ من ناحية مشاركة النساء السود أنه قليل وأغلبالرابرية رجال ويدخلون العنصر النسائي فقط للتعبير عن الجنس

اللغة المستخدمة في الهيب هوب هي الإنجليزية للأمريكيين من أصولأفريقية وهناك كلمات ليست إنجليزي تستخدم فمثلا كلمة ديسdiss أصبحت منالكلمات المستخدمة بكثرة مع ان ليس لها أصل في اللغة وأصبحت تستخدمحتى مع غير مشجعي هذه الثقافة وكثير من الكلمات التي دخلت مع ثقافةالهيب هوب

وقد انتشر في السنوات الأخيرة ثقافة الهيب هوب في جميع أنحاءالعالم بين فئة الشباب وخصوصا من له اصول أفريقية فانتشر في أوروباوإفريقيا وآسيا وكان أحد أهم الأسباب نفوذ الثقافة الاميركية في جميعأنحاء العالم من خلال السينما أو وسائل الاعلام المختلفة كما أن الهيبهوب يعطي الشباب حرية في التعبير ليست موجودة في أي فن آخر وكذلكالسهولة بحيث يستطيع أي رابر كتابة كلمات ووضع موسيقى عليها من خلالبرامج كمبيوتر جاهزة وبذلك يصبح رابر
