The FWC encourages people to removelionfish in Florida waters to limit negative impacts to native fishand wildlife. Lionfish can be speared, caught in hand-held nets orcaught on hook and line. The App has information about lionfish aswell as the feature to take pictures and reportsightings/harvests.

TrophyCatch is an incentive-based conservationprogram designed for anglers who catch-and-release largemouth bassheavier than eight pounds, in Florida.Our goals are:-Collect valid information through citizen-science about trophybass to help the FWC better enhance, conserve and promote trophybass fishing.-Encourage catch-and-release of the biggest, oldest, mostvaluable bass.-Excite anglers about Florida freshwater fishing encouragingthem to purchase licenses and fish more resulting in benefits toanglers, fishing-related businesses, local communities and thefisheries by having more support and funding for conservation.-Share information about fishing opportunities and destinationsto make fishing more enjoyable.-Anglers are encouraged to follow catch-and-release guidelinesfor these big bass and to document the catch through a photographof the entire bass on a scale with the weight clearly legible. Every verified entry in TrophyCatch adds 10 extrachances to win. The winner will be drawn randomly in October, aftereach season ends. The drawing is based on catch date, but we waituntil Oct 15 to conduct the drawing to allow travelers and otherstime to submit catches.To be eligible for any Florida Freshwater Angler RecognitionPrizing, anglers must comply with all appropriate rules. Commencingin Season-3 rules will be more strictly enforced, now that therehas been an adequate learning period.
