(FiftyFifty Maps is a Student Project and inthe Beta stage of development)

FiftyFifty Maps is a social map application built to help youfind fun places to meet up halfway between you and your friend.

Using location data, FiftyFifty Maps will return businesses,like restaurants or bars, that exist near the midpoint between you,the user, and a friend that you pick. You can specify your friend'slocation by long pressing on the map, entering an address, orpicking them out of your phones contacts.


User Interface Buttons:

Menu Button - (blue, bottom left) This brings up the slide outmenu where you can clear the current search among other things.

Places Button - (red, bottom middle) This brings up a list ofbusinesses currently being displayed on the map. More informationcan be found in the Places List such as the Yelp Rating and theaddress. To navigate to the business of your choice just click thebusiness in the Places List.

Add Friend Button - (blue, bottom right) This button displaysthe two options for adding a friend to your map other than by asimple long press. These options are detailed below.


There are a few ways for you to use FiftyFifty Maps:

1. Add Friend by Long Press - With your GPS turned on, longpress on a location on the map where you would like to drop a"friend pin." This "friend pin" should represent the friend thatyou want to meet half way with. After the "friend pin" is droppedthe midpoint is calculated and local businesses (data of which areprovided by Yelp) are displayed on the map around thatmidpoint.

2. Add Friend by Address or Business Name - With your GPS turnedon, click the "Add Friend" button in the bottom right. Then clickthe "Search" button directly above it. A search bar will appearwhich you can use to search for a specific business by name eg:"The Pizza Place on Noriega" or by address.

3. Add Friend by Shared Session - This feature is only availableif your friend is also a user of FiftyFifty Maps. To access thisfeature click the "Add Contact" button after clicking the "AddFriend" button in the bottom right. This will bring up your phone'scontact list. Click the name of the friend that you would like toadd. If your friend is a user of FiftyFifty Maps, then they willget an alert that you want to start a "Shared Session" withthem.

Your phone's GPS must be enabled for the application to workfully.


FiftyFifty Maps started as a class project made by students of SanFrancisco State University and is currently in Beta. We are a smallteam of two new graduates. We would really appreciate any feedbackon this project.
