Description

Prototype of a quadrocopter game in third person, allowing near FPVflight with the ability to see what the plane is doing with addeddepth perception of using stereoscopic VR.

Note this is a very early demo of the system, there are no menusor configuration, it works on my Samsung Galaxy S4 with a Samsunggame pad using a Google cardboard headset. The fairly low framerate may cause motion sickness if you are not used to flying FPVstyle. If it doesn't crash you may need to force it to quit to getout of the game.

The controls are 'Mode 2' so Throttle and Yaw are on the leftstick, Pitch and Roll are on the right. It is a proof of concept,so I have only written a basic approximation of the flight dynamicsso it sets the rotation of the plane directly as if it were flyingin Angle or Horizon mode if you are used to flying Naze32 basedflight controllers.

Direct manipulation of the rotation is at odds with the gameengines physics system, this means that if you impact theenvironment you will need to land to stop any uncontrollablerotation. I will write a proper flight controller and multi-rotorflight physics system soon.

My mobile game pad has a lot less resolution than the xbox onecontroller i use for development and is not as smooth, but itshould be possible to fly. Just be sure to roll as well as yaw ifyou have any significant velocity. That seems fairly consistentwith my micro and nano sized drones.

Enjoy! Feedback much appreciated!
