Gaderia Gadar is cattle-owning caste found in North India.Gadar,Charwaha, and Gwala are synonyms of a herdsman. Somescholarsbelieve that, the name is derived from the Hindi wordGádar(Sheep), though it is debatable because the word Gádar whichmeanssheep, is not a Hindi word it is from Bundeli (language spokeninBundelkhand region). In fact Gadar was no particularcommunity...Those who fled to jungles and hills to escapeconversion during theMughal period, made cattle grazing theirprofession. Initially,they were economically sound but theircondition deteriorated injungle surroundings. Thus an honorablecommunity came to be lookedupon as nomads. Malhar Rao Holkar (16March 1693 – 20 May 1766) anoble of the Maratha Empire Malhar RaoHolkar was from the Dhangarcommunity, a pastoral group that is nottechnically a part of theMaratha caste. Holkar, the family name ofthe Maratha rulers ofIndore, was adopted as a dynastic title. Thefamily was of peasantorigin and of shepherd caste.
