Сollection of Deer wallpapers, 51 images.Features:Save to SDSet as wallpaperBears are mammals of the family Ursidae. Bears are classified ascaniforms, or doglike carnivorans, with the pinnipeds being theirclosest living relatives. Although only eight species of bears areextant, they are widespread, appearing in a wide variety ofhabitats throughout the Northern Hemisphere and partially in theSouthern Hemisphere. Bears are found on the continents of NorthAmerica, South America, Europe, and Asia.Common characteristics of modern bears include large bodies withstocky legs, long snouts, shaggy hair, plantigrade paws with fivenonretractile claws, and short tails. While the polar bear ismostly carnivorous and the giant panda feeds almost entirely onbamboo, the remaining six species are omnivorous, with varieddiets. With the exceptions of courting individuals and mothers with theiryoung, bears are typically solitary animals. They are generallydiurnal, but may be active during the night (nocturnal) or twilight(crepuscular), particularly around humans. Bears are aided by anexcellent sense of smell, and despite their heavy build and awkwardgait, they can run quickly and are adept climbers and swimmers. Inautumn, some bear species forage large amounts of fermented fruits, which affects their behaviour. Bears use shelters, such as cavesand burrows, as their dens; most species occupy their dens duringthe winter for a long period of sleep similar to hibernation.Bears have been hunted since prehistoric times for their meat andfur. To this day, they play a prominent role in the arts, mythology, and other cultural aspects of various human societies. In modern times, the bears' existence has been pressured throughthe encroachment on their habitats and the illegal trade of bearsand bear parts, including the Asian bile bear market. The IUCNlists six bear species as vulnerable or endangered, and even leastconcern species, such as the brown bear, are at risk of extirpationin certain countries. The poaching and international trade of thesemost threatened populations are prohibited, but still ongoing.Bears are generally bulky and robust animals with relativelyshort legs. They are sexually dimorphic with regard to size, withthe males being larger. Larger species tend to show increasedlevels of sexual dimorphism in comparison to smaller species, andwhere a species varies in size across its distribution, individualsfrom larger-sized areas tend also to vary more. Bears are the mostmassive terrestrial members of the order Carnivora. Someexceptional polar bears and Kodiak bears (a brown bear subspecies)have been weighed at over 750 kg (1,700 lb). As to which species isthe largest depends on whether the assessment is based on whichspecies has the largest individuals (brown bears) or on the largestaverage size (polar bears), as some races of brown bears are muchsmaller than polar bears. Adult male Kodiak bears average 480 to533 kg (1,100 to 1,180 lb) compared to an average of 386 to 408 kg(850 to 900 lb) in adult male polar bears, per the Guinness Book ofWorld Records. The smallest bears are the sun bears of Asia, whichweigh an average of 65 kg (140 lb) for the males and 45 kg (99 lb)for the females, though the smallest mature females can weigh only20 kg (44 lb). All "medium"-sized bear species (which include theother five extant species) are around the same average weight, withmales averaging around 100 to 120 kg (220 to 260 lb) and femalesaveraging around 60 to 85 kg (130 to 190 lb).Legal notice: We believe our images fall under the fair usedoctrine as they are reduced size and excerpted for informationalpurposes/or public domain. Little Pony Gallery Wallpapers 2.0

After the appearance of cartoon "My LittlePony" interest to the ponies has increased considerably, bothadults and children want to know more about these beautiful rareanimals.A pony is a small horse. Depending on context, a pony may be ahorse that is under an approximate or exact height at the withers,or a small horse with a specific conformation and temperament. There are many different breeds. Compared to other horses, poniesoften exhibit thicker manes, tails and overall coat, as well asproportionally shorter legs, wider barrels, heavier bone, thickernecks, and shorter heads with broader foreheads. The word "pony"derives from the old French poulenet, meaning foal, a young, immature horse, but this is not the modern meaning; unlike a horsefoal, a pony remains small when fully grown. However, on occasion, people who are unfamiliar with horses may confuse an adult ponywith a foal. The ancestors of most modern ponies developed small stature due toliving on the margins of livable horse habitat. These smalleranimals were domesticated and bred for various purposes all overthe northern hemisphere. Ponies were historically used for drivingand freight transport, as children's mounts, for recreationalriding, and later as competitors and performers in their own right.During the Industrial Revolution, particularly in Great Britain, asignificant number were used as pit ponies, hauling loads of coalin the mines.Ponies are generally considered intelligent and friendly, thoughsometimes they also are described as stubborn or cunning. Properlytrained ponies are appropriate mounts for children who are learningto ride. Larger ponies can be ridden by adults, as ponies areusually strong for their size. In modern use, many organizationsdefine a pony as a mature horse that measures less than 14.2 hands(58 inches, 147 cm) at the withers, but there are a number ofexceptions. Different organizations that use a strict measurementmodel vary from 14 hands (56 inches, 142 cm) to nearly 14.3 hands(59 inches, 150 cm). Many breeds classify an animal as either horseor pony based on pedigree and phenotype, no matter its height. Somefull-sized horses may be called "ponies" for various reasons oftradition or as a term of endearment.Pony breeds have developed all over the world, particularly incold and harsh climates where hardy, sturdy working animals wereneeded. They are remarkably strong for their size. Breeds such asthe Connemara pony, are recognized for their ability to carry afull-sized adult rider. Pound for pound ponies can pull and carrymore weight than a horse. Draft-type ponies are able to pull loadssignificantly greater than their own weight, with larger poniescapable of pulling loads comparable to those pulled by full-sizeddraft horses, and even very small ponies able to pull as much as450 percent of their own weight.Nearly all pony breeds are very hardy, easy keepers that share theability to thrive on a more limited diet than that of aregular-sized horse, requiring half the hay for their weight as ahorse, and often not needing grain at all. However, for the samereason, they are also more vulnerable to laminitis and Cushing'ssyndrome. They may also have problems with hyperlipemia.Ponies are generally considered intelligent and friendly, thoughsometimes they also are described as stubborn or cunning. Thedifferences of opinion often result from an individual pony'sdegree of proper training. Ponies trained by inexperiencedindividuals, or only ridden by beginners, can turn out to bespoiled because their riders typically lack the experience base tocorrect bad habits. Properly trained ponies are appropriate mountsfor children who are learning to ride. Larger ponies can be riddenby adults, as ponies are usually strong for their size.

World of WWII Tanks 1.1

World of of World War II TanksThe Handbook of World War II Tanks includes all the tanks usedby those countries which were at war during World War II from theperiod between their joining the conflict and the conflict endingfor them.Features:Save to SDSet as wallpaperA tank is a large type of armoured fighting vehicle with tracks, designed for front-line combat. Modern tanks are strong mobile landweapons platforms, mounting a large-calibre cannon in a rotatinggun turret. They combine this with heavy vehicle armour providingprotection for the crew of the weapon and operational mobility, which allows them to position on the battlefield in advantageouslocations. These features enable to have enormous capability toperform well in a tactical situation: the combination of strongweapons fire from their tank gun and their ability to resist enemyfire means the tank can take hold of and control an area of thebattle and prevent other enemy vehicles from advancing, forexample. In both offensive and defensive roles, they are powerfulunits able to perform all primary tasks required of armoured troopson the battlefield. The modern was the result of a century ofdevelopment from primitive armoured vehicles, due to improvementsin technology such as the internal combustion engine, which allowedthe rapid movement of heavy armoured vehicles. As a result of theseadvances, underwent tremendous shifts in capability during theWorld Wars of the 20th century.Handbook including:01 T13: two Germans looking at a captured T13 B302 T-1503 Renault FT: US Army on the Western Front, 1918 (WWI)04 Ram. Vietnam War Aircraft photo encyclopedia.Fighters, bombers, helicopters, Aircraft carriers. The Vietnam War was a Cold War-era military conflict thatoccurred in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia from 1 November 1955 to thefall of Saigon on 30 April 1975. This war followed the FirstIndochina War and was fought between North Vietnam, supported byits communist allies, and the government of South Vietnam, supported by the United States and other anti-communist countries. The Viet Cong (also known as the National Liberation Front, orNLF), a lightly armed South Vietnamese communist common frontdirected by the North, largely fought a guerrilla war againstanti-communist forces in the region. The Vietnam People's Army(North Vietnamese Army) engaged in a more conventional war, attimes committing large units into battle. U.S. and South Vietnameseforces relied on air superiority and overwhelming firepower toconduct search and destroy operations, involving ground forces, artillery, and airstrikes.Vietnam War Aircraft including:Northrop F-5C Freedom Fighters refuelingLing-Temco-Vought A-7A-4a-CV CorsairFour McDonnell F-4C PhantomMcDonnell Douglas TA-4F SkyhawkBoeing B-52F-65-BW StratofortressCH-53A Sea StallionUSS ForrestalDouglas A-1J SkyraiderGrumman A-6C IntruderBell UH-1E HueyUC-123B ProviderUH-1DMartin B-57BSikorsky HH-53EMartin SP-5B MarlinVought A-7A CorsairDouglas A-4E SkyhawkSikorsky SH-3A Sea KingNorth American F-100D-30-NA Super SabreBristol FreighterFairchild C-123K ProviderCH-54 SkycraneGrumman F9F-2 PantherDouglas RB-66B-DL DestroyerUSS carrier USS Intrepid (CV-11) and an A-12 Blackbirdde Havilland Canada DHC-5Douglas EF-10B SkyknightLockheed C-130A HerculesGrumman E-1B TracersGeneral Dynamics F-111AsCessna 0-1E Bird DogLockheed EC-121D Warning StarAircraft carrier USS RangerLockheed P-3A-50-LO OrionRepublic F-105D ThunderchiefGrumman EA-6A IntruderLockheed YF-12AOV-1 MohawkAircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CVS-11)Nortrop F-5C Freedom FighterLockheed C-130B/E HerculesAttack aircraft carrier USS Oriskany (CVA-34)Aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea (CVA-43)Lockheed OP-2E NeptuneNissile cruiser USS Long Beach (CGN-9)McDonnell RF-101CDouglas VC-118B LiftmasterQU-22Kaman HH-2C SeaspriteLing-Temco-Vought A-7B CorsairBoeing KC-135A StratotankerBoeing B-52D-35-BW StratofortressVought F-8E CrusaderAircraft carrier USS Bon Homme RichardF-105 ThunderchiefAircraft carriers USS OriskanyDe Havilland C-7B CaribouCessna O-2A-CE Super SkymasterDouglas EKA-3B SkywarriorAircraft carrier USS Franklin D. Gallery of photos of pandas will show you how to look andbehave like a panda from all over the world.A large panda or bamboo bear - a mammal family of a bear with adistinctive, easily recognizable black and white coloring hair.Giant Pandas live in mountainous regions of central China: Sichuan,Tibet, Shaanxi and Gansu. In the second half of XX century pandahas become almost a national emblem of China. There is also a small (or red) panda, but they are more likefoxes, and relatively little known.A large panda reaches a length of 1.5 m and weighs 160 kg, sothe feeling that it's cute Chinese bear, can be deceiving. The tailis rather long (for a bear's standards) to 12 cm body is coveredwith thick white fur with black patches around the eyes ("points")and black paws.Few people know that a panda to 6 "fingers" on the front paws, and the sixth, as opposed "finger" is a modified wrist bone. Thisform of "palm" allows strong hold in the clutches of bamboo, sothat Kung Fu Panda are the truth would be an advantage inbattle. In principle, the panda - predatory animals, but, oddly enough, feed mainly on bamboo, up to 30 kg per day. In the wild, pandas eatbamboo and bamboo shoots, in zoos for their diet add "bamboocookies". Pandas are omnivores can eat eggs or insects, but if inan area inhabited by pandas, bamboo disappears (for example, afterflowering), the pandas face starvation.List of Panda Photos:01 Panda baby02 Pandas from Wolong03 Mother and daughter04 Panda cub Tai Shan and his mother Mei Xiang05 Panda on tree06 Sad Panda07 Pandas from Wolong08 Hua Mei from San Diego09 Pandas Family10 Sleeping pandas11 Swimming panda12 Pandas kissing13 Pandas climbing14 Pandas playing in Sichuan15 Pandas from Chengdu16 Panda cub from Vienna17 Panda chewing bamboo18 Panda from San Diego sunning19 Mei Xiang from Smithsonian's National Park20 Panda brothers21 Pandas walking under the snow22 Pandas family from San Diego playing23 Panda from Chengdu posing24 Panda twins25 Panda eating26 Panda snack time27 Two Pandas from Wolong eating bamboo28 Panda resting29 Panda baby sleeping30 New born panda31 Pandas from Sichuan32 Pandas Qiqi and Zhizhi eat at the Chengdu Base33 Panda from Adelaide34 Seven month old panda cub Fu Long35 Walking panda36 Autumn panda37 Winter panda38 Panda from Edinburgh39 Panda baby40 Panda on tree41 Newborn baby pandas from ChengduThank you for your interest for live nature, enjoy this PandaGallery.
World War II Bombers 2.2

World War II Aircraft Bombers HandbookThe Handbook of aircraft of WWII includes all the aircraft usedby those countries which were at war during WWII from the periodbetween their joining the conflict and the conflict ending forthem.A bomber is a military aircraft designed to attack ground andsea targets, by dropping bombs on them, firing torpedoes at them,or – in recent years – by launching cruise missiles at them. With engine power as a major limitation, combined with thedesire for accuracy and other operational factors, bomber designstended to be tailored to specific roles. By the start of the warthis included:dive - specially strengthened for vertical diving attacks forgreater accuracy.light, medium and heavy - subjective definitions based onsize.torpedo - specialized aircraft armed with torpedoes.ground attack aircraft - used against targets on a battlefield suchas troop or tank concentrations. A further specialized form was theanti-tank aircraft.night - specially equipped to operate at night when opposingdefences are limited.maritime patrol - long range bombers that were used against enemyshipping, particularly submarines.Bombers are not intended to attack other aircraft although mostwere fitted with defensive weapons. WWII saw the beginning of thewidespread use of high speed bombers which dispensed with defensiveweapons to be able to attain higher speed, such as with the deHavilland Mosquito..Some smaller designs have been used as the basis for nightfighters, and a number of fighters, such as the Hawker Hurricanewere used as ground attack aircraft, replacing earlier conventionallight bombers that proved unable to defend themselves whilecarrying a useful bombload.Handbook including:Aero A.100,Aero A.304,Blackburn Ripon,Blackburn Shark,Breda Ba.64,Breda Ba.65,Breguet 19,Curtiss A-12,Fairey Battle,Fairey Fox,Fairey Gordon,Fairey III,Fokker C.V,Fokker C.X,Hawker Hart,Hawker Hind,Hawker Horsley,Heinkel He 45,Heinkel He 50,Henschel Hs 123,Henschel Hs 129,Ilyushin Il-2,Ilyushin Il-10,Junkers Ju 87,Kawasaki Ki-32,Letov Š-16,Mitsubishi Ki-30,Mitsubishi Ki-51,A-36 Apache,Northrop A-17,Polikarpov Po-2,Polikarpov R-5,Potez 25,PZL.23 Karaś,Reggiane Re.2002,Rogožarski R-100,SM.85,Vildebeest,Wellesley,Vultee A-31,Vultee V-11,Yakovlev Yak-4,Aichi B7A,Aichi D1A,Aichi D3A,B-24 Skua,Brewster SB2A,TBY Sea Wolf,Curtiss SB2C,SBC Helldiver,Douglas SBD,TBD Devastator,Fairey Albacore,Fairey Barracuda,Grumman TBF,Mitsubishi B5M,Nakajima B5N,Nakajima B6N,Yokosuka B4Y,Yokosuka D4Y

However, if you would like to requestremoval of an image from our collection for copyright reasons, feelfree to contact us at [email protected] and we'll be happy tooblige. On 8 May 1889, accompanied by his carer, the Reverend Salles,Van Gogh committed himself to the hospital at SaintPaul-de-Mausole. A former monastery in Saint-Remy less than 20miles (32 km) from Arles, the monastery is located in an area ofcornfields, vineyards and olive trees at the time run by a formernaval doctor, Dr. Theophile Peyron. Theo arranged for two smallrooms—adjoining cells with barred windows. The second was to beused as a studio.During his stay, the clinic and its garden became the main subjectsof his paintings. He made several studies of the hospitalinteriors, such as Vestibule of the Asylum and Saint-Remy(September 1889). Some of the work from this time is characterizedby swirls—including one of his best-known paintings The StarryNight. He was allowed short supervised walks, which led topaintings of cypresses and olive trees, like Olive Trees with theAlpilles in the Background 1889, Cypresses 1889, Cornfield withCypresses (1889), Country road in Provence by Night (1890). ThatSeptember he also produced a further two versions of Bedroom inArles.Limited access to the world outside the clinic resulted in ashortage of subject matter. He was left to work on interpretationsof other artist's paintings, such as Millet’s The Sower and Noon –Rest from Work (after Millet), as well as variations on his ownearlier work. Van Gogh was an admirer of the Realism of JulesBreton, Gustave Courbet and Millet and compared his copies to amusician's interpreting Beethoven. Many of his most compellingworks date from this period. His The Round of the Prisoners (1890)was painted after an engraving by Gustave Dore (1832–1883). It issuggested that the face of the prisoner in the center of thepainting and looking toward the viewer is Van Gogh himself, although the noted Van Gogh scholar Jan Hulsker discountsthis.Towards the end of his stay, Van Gogh suffered a severe relapselasting two month between February and April 1890. Nevertheless hewas able to paint and draw a little during this time and he laterwrote Theo that he had made a few small canvases "from memory ...reminisces of the North". Amongst these was Two Peasant WomenDigging in a Snow-Covered Field at Sunset. Hulsker believes thatthis small group of paintings formed the nucleus of a large numberof drawings and study sheets depicting landscapes and figures thatVan Gogh worked on during this time. He comments that, save forthis short period, Van Gogh's illness had hardly any effect on hiswork but in these he sees a reflection of Van Gogh's mental healthat the time. Also belonging to this period is Sorrowing Old Man('At Eternity's Gate'), a color study that Hulsker describes as"another unmistakable remembrance of times long past".List of paintings:A Corner in the Garden of Saint-Paul HospitalA Meadow in the Mountains Le Mas de Saint-PaulA Road at Saint-Remy with Female FigureAt the Foot of the MountainsBlossoming Almond TreeCottages and Cypresses Reminiscence of the NorthCottages Reminiscence of the NorthCypresses and Two WomenCypresses with Two Female FiguresCypressesdescription.txtEnclosed Field with PloughmanEnclosed Field with Rising SunEnclosed Wheat Field with PeasantEntrance to a Quarry near Saint-RemyEntrance to a QuarryEvening Landscape with Rising MoonEvening The End of the Day after Milletand other (total 143 paintings)...

Gachet was recommended by Camille Pissarro, had treatedseveral other artists, and was himself an amateur artist. VanGogh's first impression was that Gachet was "...sicker than I am, Ithink, or shall we say just as much." In June 1890 he painted anumber of portraits of the physician, including Portrait of Dr.Gachet, and his only etching; in each the emphasis is on Gachet'smelancholic disposition. Van Gogh stayed at the Auberge Ravoux, where he paid 3 francs and 50 centimes to rent an attic roommeasuring 75 square feet (7.0 m2).Before he left, In his last weeks at Saint-Remy, Van Gogh'sthoughts returned to his "memories of the North", and several ofthe approximately 70 oils he painted during his 70 days inAuvers-sur-Oise, such as The Church at Auvers, are reminiscent ofnorthern scenes.Wheat Field with Crows (July 1890) is an example of the doublesquare technique he developed in the last weeks of his life. In itsturbulent intensity, it is among his most haunting and elementalworks. It is often mistakenly believed to be his last work, Hulskerlists seven paintings that postdate it.Barbizon painter Charles Daubigny had moved to Auvers in 1861, andthis in turn drew other artists there, including Camille Corot andHonore Daumier.List of paintings:01 Daubigny s Garden 202 Daubigny s Garden 303 Daubigny s Garden04 Doctor Gachet s Garden in Auvers05 Ears of Wheat06 Farmhouse with Two Figures07 Field with Poppies08 Field with Stacks of Wheat09 Field with Wheat Stacks10 Garden in Auvers11 Haystacks under a Rainy Sky12 Houses in Auvers 213 Houses in Auvers14 Landscape at Auvers in the Rain15 Carriage and Train in the Background16 Landscape with the Chateau of Auvers at Sunset17 Landscape with Three Trees and a House18 Marguerite Gachet at the Piano19 Marguerite Gachet in the Garden20 Plain Near Auvers21 Adeline Ravoux 222 Adeline Ravoux 323 Adeline Ravoux24 Portrait of Doctor Gachet 225 Portrait of Doctor Gachet L Homme a la Pipe26 Portrait of Doctor Gachet27 Glass with Carnations28 Glass with Wild Flowers29 Japanese Vase with Roses and Anemones30 Pink Roses31 Red Poppies and Daisies32 Vase with Flower and Thistles33 Vase with Rose-Mallows34 Thatched Cottages at Cordeville35 Cottages by a Hill36 Cottages in Jorgus37 Thatched Cottages38 Sandstone Cottages in Chaponval39 The Church at Auvers40 The Fields41 The Grove42 The House of Pere Eloi43 The House of Pere Pilon44 The Little Arlesienne45 The Little Stream46 The White House at Night47 Tree Roots and Trunks48 Two Children 249 Two Children50 Two Women Crossing the Fields51 Undergrowth with Two Figures52 View of Auvers with Church53 View of Auvers54 View of Vessenots Near Auvers55 Village Street and Steps in Auvers with Figures56 Village Street and Steps in Auvers with Two Figures57 Village Street in Auvers58 Vineyards with a View of Auvers59 Wheat Field at Auvers with White House60 Under Clouded Sky61 Cornflowers62 Wheat Field with Crows63 Wheat Fields at Auvers Under Clouded Sky64 near Auvers65 Wheat Fields with Auvers in the Background66 Wild Flowers and Thistles in a Vase67 Young Girl Standing Against a Background of Wheat68 Young Peasant Woman with Straw Hat Sitting in the Wheat

The interest in penguins, these birds fromAntarctica, has always been high, and after the cartoon"Madagascar" and "Madagascar 2", where the charming Skipper,Kowalski, Rico and Private virtually created his own story line, the Penguins were surrounded by even more attention. What kind of bird that never flew, but very good swimmers? In total there are 18 species of penguins, the smallest of theso-called Little Penguins (up to 45 cm, weight 2.5 kg) to thelargest, the emperor penguin (up to 120 cm, weight up to 46 kg).Body shape more reminiscent of penguins are not birds, anddolphins, which means frequent pastime in the water. The device ofwings and a powerful chest muscles and are not meant for flying, and swimming. Usually the bones of birds have a tubular structurethat allows us to find a compromise between strength and weight, but the bones of dolphins are very strong and heavy, more like thebones of dolphins and seals.Eyes of the penguins are more suited for vision under water, sothey see on the ground is not very good. Pupil of the eye penguincan grow much more human, so the penguins can see well even in thedark, at a depth of 100 meters.Penguins eat mostly fish and crustaceans. During the huntpenguins spend much time in cold water, plunging to a depth of 500meters and holding at one time under water up to 18 minutes. ExceptAntarctica, penguins live in New Zealand, Australia, on the coastof South America and even the Galapagos Islands near theequator.List of photos:01 Baby penguins02 Flying penguin03 Chicks Kindergarten04 Open air05 Penguin kiss06 Penguin trio07 Penguin family08 Two penguins09 Morning in Antarctica10 Penguin chick11 Penguin walk12 Wonderful baby13 Baby penguin14 Little penguin15 Penguin soulmates16 Hunting party17 Penguin family18 Emperor penguin chick19 Child education20 Penguin chick with father21 I want to eat!22 Penguin surfer23 Penguin diving24 Penguin chick with mother25 Penguin brothers26 Young penguins27 Opposition28 Warm place29 Belly Slide Penguin30 Kindergarten31 Bay of Isles, penguin colony32 Would you like to swim today?33 Cool water34 Ice mountain35 Cockcrow in Antarctica36 Penguins from Edinburgh Zoo37 Penguins from Prague38 Little Blue Penguin from Adelaide Zoo39 Penguins from Asahiyama40 Memphis Zoo41 Belfast Zoological gardens42 Penguins from Singapore Zoo43 London Zoo pool44 Emperor penguin on Peka Peka Beach45 Penguin underwater in Belfast Zoo46 African penguin swimming47 Penguin diving at the zoo in Wuppertal, Germany48 Two penguins49 Calgary Zoo50 Its baby timeApp can set any image as a wallpaper or save to SD card

Little Pony Families & Breeds 1.1
uniplayapps

World War II Aircraft Fighters 2.8

World War II Aircraft Fighters HandbookYou can download application without adshereThe Handbook of aircraft of World War II includes all theaircraft (except Heavy fighters and Jet- and rocket- propelledfighters) used by those countries which were at war during WorldWar II from the period between their joining the conflict and theconflict ending for them.A fighter aircraft is a military aircraft designed primarily forair-to-air combat against other aircraft, as opposed to bombers andattack aircraft, whose main mission is to attack ground targets. The hallmarks of a fighter are its speed, maneuverability, andsmall size relative to other combat aircraft. Many fighters have secondary ground-attack capabilities, and someare designed as dual-purpose fighter-bombers (like a P-47Thunderbolt or Fairey Fox). Often, aircraft that do not fulfill thestandard definition are called fighters. This may be for politicalor national security reasons, for advertising purposes or otherreasons.A fighter's main purpose is to establish air superiority over abattlefield. Since World War I, achieving and maintaining airsuperiority has been essential for victory in conventional warfare. The success or failure of a belligerent's efforts to gain airsupremacy hinges on several factors including the skill of itspilots, the tactical soundness of its doctrine for deploying itsfighters and the numbers and performance of those fighters. Becauseof the importance of air superiority, since the dawn of aerialcombat armed forces have constantly competed to developtechnologically superior fighters and to deploy these fighters ingreater numbers, and fielding a viable fighter fleet consumes asubstantial proportion of the defense budgets of modern armedforces. The Second World War featured fighter combat on a larger scale thanany other conflict to date. German Field Marshal Erwin Rommel notedthe effect of airpower: "Anyone who has to fight, even with themost modern weapons, against an enemy in complete command of theair, fights like a savage against modern European troops, under thesame handicaps and with the same chances of success." Throughoutthe conflict, fighters performed their conventional role inestablishing air superiority through combat with other fighters andthrough bomber interception, and many fighters were also pressedinto service in additional roles such as tactical air support andreconnaissance.he approach of different belligerents to fighter design variedwidely, with the Japanese and Italians favoring lightly armed andarmored but highly maneuverable designs such as the JapaneseNakajima Ki-27, Nakajima Ki-43 and Mitsubishi A6M Zero.Handbook including:Biplane fighter aircrafts:Avia B-534Avia BH-33A.W.35 ScimitarBoeing P-12Type 105 Bristol BulldogFairey Firefly IIFairey FoxFiat CR.32Fiat CR.42Gloster GauntletGloster Sea GladiatorGrumman FFGrumman F3FHawker DemonHawker FuryHawker NimrodHeinkel He 51He 51W seaplaneKawasaki Ki-10Monoplane fighter aircrafts:Bell P-39 AiracobraBell P-63 KingcobraBoeing P-26 PeashooterBrewster F2A BuffaloCurtiss P-36 HawkCAC BoomerangCaudron C.714Curtiss P-40 WarhawkCurtiss-Wright CW-21Dewoitine D.500Fiat G.50Fiat G.55Focke-Wulf Fw 190Focke-Wulf Ta 152Grumman F6F HellcatGrumman F8F BearcatHawker HurricaneHawker TyphoonTempestHeinkel He 112IAR 80Ikarus IK-2Kawanishi N1KKawasaki Ki-61Kawasaki Ki-100Macchi C.200Macchi C.202 FolgoreMacchi C.205 VeltroMesserschmitt Bf 109Mitsubishi A5MMitsubishi A6M ZeroNakajima Ki-27Nakajima Ki-43North American P-51 MustangNorth American P-64PZL P.7Reggiane Re.2000Reggiane Re.2001Reggiane Re.2005Republic P-43 LancerRepublic P-47 ThunderboltRogozarski IK-3Supermarine SpitfireVought F4U CorsairVultee P-66 VanguardYakovlev Yak-7You can save every image to SD card or set as wallpaper

Want to know how to look cartoon charactersprototypes in the wild? Tom, one of the main characters in a seriesof animated cartoons "Tom and Jerry", Cat in the Hat or CheshireCat and Garfield - cats, and you can see the high quality picturesof real animals from wild nature.Features:Save to SDSet as wallpaperThe domestic cat (Felis catus or Felis silvestris catus) is asmall, usually furry, domesticated, and carnivorous mammal. It isoften called the housecat when kept as an indoor pet, or simply thecat when there is no need to distinguish it from other felids andfelines. Cats are often valued by humans for companionship andtheir ability to hunt vermin and household pests.Cats are similar in anatomy to the other felids, with strong, flexible bodies, quick reflexes, sharp retractable claws, and teethadapted to killing small prey. Cat senses fit a crepuscular andpredatory ecological niche. Cats can hear sounds too faint or toohigh in frequency for human ears, such as those made by mice andother small animals. They can see in near darkness. Like most othermammals, cats have poorer color vision and a better sense of smellthan humans.Despite being solitary hunters, cats are a social species, andcommunication includes the use of a variety of vocalizations(mewing, purring, trilling, hissing, growling and grunting) as wellas pheromones and types of cat-specific body language.Cats have a rapid breeding rate. Under controlled breeding, theycan be bred and shown as registered pedigree pets, a hobby known asfancy. Failure to control the breeding of pet by neutering, and theabandonment of former household pets, has resulted in large numbersof feral cats worldwide, requiring population control.Since cats were cult animals in ancient Egypt, they were commonlybelieved to have been domesticated there, but there may have beeninstances of domestication as early as the Neolithic from around9500 years ago (7500 BC).A genetic study in 2007 concluded that domestic are descended fromAfrican wildcats (Felis silvestris lybica) c. 8000 BC, in the NearEast. Cats are the most popular pet in the world, and are now foundin almost every place where humans live.Familiar and easily kept animals, their physiology has beenparticularly well studied; it generally resembles that of othercarnivorous mammals but displays several unusual features probablyattributable to cats' descent from desert-dwelling species. Forinstance, they are able to tolerate quite high temperatures: Humansgenerally start to feel uncomfortable when their skin temperaturepasses about 38 °C (100 °F), but they show no discomfort untiltheir skin reaches around 52 °C (126 °F),:46 and can toleratetemperatures of up to 56 °C (133 °F) if they have access towater.Cats conserve heat by reducing the flow of blood to their skin andlose heat by evaporation through their mouth. They have minimalability to sweat, with glands located primarily in their paw pads, and pant for heat relief only at very high temperatures (but mayalso pant when stressed). A cat's body temperature does not varythroughout the day; this is part of cats' general lack of circadianrhythms and may reflect their tendency to be active both during theday and at night.:1 Cats' feces are comparatively dry and theirurine is highly concentrated, both of which are adaptations thatallow cats to retain as much fluid as possible. Their kidneys areso efficient that can survive on a diet consisting only of meat, with no additional water, and can even rehydrate by drinkingseawater.Legal notice: We believe our images fall under the fair usedoctrine as they are reduced size and excerpted for informationalpurposes/or public domain. Jaguar Wallpaper Gallery 1.3

Jaguars and Panthers Wallpaper GalleryThe jaguar is a big cat, a feline in the Panthera genus, and isthe only Panthera species found in the Americas. The jaguar is thethird-largest feline after the tiger and the lion, and the largestin the Western Hemisphere. The jaguar's present range extends fromSouthern United States and Mexico across much of Central Americaand south to Paraguay and northern Argentina. Apart from a knownand possibly breeding population in Arizona (southeast of Tucson),the cat has largely been extirpated from the United States sincethe early 20th century. This spotted cat most closely resembles the leopard physically, although it is usually larger and of sturdier build and itsbehavioural and habitat characteristics are closer to those of thetiger. While dense rainforest is its preferred habitat, the jaguarwill range across a variety of forested and open terrains. It isstrongly associated with the presence of water and is notable, along with the tiger, as a feline that enjoys swimming. The jaguaris largely a solitary, opportunistic, stalk-and-ambush predator atthe top of the food chain (an apex predator). It is a keystonespecies, playing an important role in stabilizing ecosystems andregulating the populations of the animals it hunts. The jaguar hasan exceptionally powerful bite, even relative to the other bigcats. This allows it to pierce the shells of armoured reptiles andto employ an unusual killing method: it bites directly through theskull of prey between the ears to deliver a fatal bite to thebrain. The jaguar is a near threatened species and its numbers aredeclining. Threats include loss and fragmentation of habitat. Whileinternational trade in jaguars or their parts is prohibited, thecat is still frequently killed by humans, particularly in conflictswith ranchers and farmers in South America. Although reduced, itsrange remains large; given its historical distribution, the jaguarhas featured prominently in the mythology of numerous indigenousAmerican cultures, including that of the Maya and Aztec. The jaguar is a compact and well-muscled animal. Size and weightvary considerably: weights are normally in the range of 56–96 kg(124–211 lb). Larger males have been recorded to weigh as much as160 kg (350 lb)[26] (roughly matching a tigress or lioness), andthe smallest females have low weights of 36 kg (79 lb). Females aretypically 10–20% smaller than males. The length, from the nose tothe base of the tail, of the cats varies from 1.2 to 1.95 m (3.9 to6.4 ft). Their tails are the shortest of any big cat, at 45 to 75cm (18 to 30 in) in length.[27][28] Their legs are also short, considerably shorter when compared to a small tiger or lion in asimilar weight range, but are thick and powerful. The jaguar stands63 to 76 cm (25 to 30 in) tall at the shoulders. Compared to thesimilar coloured Old World leopard, this cat is bigger, heavier andrelatively stocky in build.Further variations in size have been observed across regions andhabitats, with size tending to increase from the north to south. Astudy of the jaguar in the Chamela-Cuixmala Biosphere Reserve onthe Mexican Pacific coast, showed ranges of just about 50 kg (110lb), about the size of the cougar. By contrast, a study of thejaguar in the Brazilian Pantanal region found average weights of100 kg (220 lb), and weights of 136 kilograms (300 lb) or more arenot uncommon in old males. Forest jaguars are frequently darker andconsiderably smaller than those found in open areas (the Pantanalis an open wetland basin), possibly due to the smaller numbers oflarge, herbivorous prey in forest areas.

Theyare often called a housecat when kept as an indoor pet, or simply acat when there is no need to distinguish them from other felids andfelines. Cats are often valued by humans for companionship, andtheir ability to hunt vermin and household pests.Cats are similar in anatomy to the other felids, with strong, flexible bodies, quick reflexes, sharp retractable claws, and teethadapted to killing small prey. Cat senses fit a crepuscular andpredatory ecological niche. Can hear sounds too faint or too highin frequency for human ears, such as those made by mice and othersmall animals. They can see in near darkness. Like most othermammals, cats have poorer color vision and a better sense of smellthan humans.Despite being solitary hunters, cats are a social species, andcat communication includes the use of a variety of vocalizations(mewing, purring, trilling, hissing, growling, and grunting), aswell as pheromones, and types of specific body language.Cats have a high breeding rate. Under controlled breeding, theycan be bred and shown as registered pedigree pets, a hobby known ascat fancy. Failure to control the breeding of pet cats byneutering, and the abandonment of former household pets, hasresulted in large numbers of feral cats worldwide, requiringpopulation control.Since cats were cult animals in ancient Egypt, they werecommonly believed to have been domesticated there, but there mayhave been instances of domestication as early as the Neolithic fromaround 9500 years ago (7500 BC). A genetic study in 2007 concludedthat domestic cats are descended from African wildcats (Felissilvestris lybica), having diverged around 8000 BC in West Asia.Cats are the most popular pet in the world, and are now found inalmost every place where humans live.Dog breeds list:01 Aegean02 American Curl03 American Bobtail04 American Shorthair05 American Wirehair06 Arabian Mau07 Australian Mist08 Asian09 Asian Semi-longhair10 Balinese11 Bengal12 Birman13 Brazilian Shorthair14 British Shorthair15 British Longhair16 Burmese17 Burmilla18 California Spangled19 Chantilly-Tiffany20 Chartreux21 Chausie22 Cheetoh23 Colorpoint Shorthair24 Cornish Rex25 Cymric (Manx Longhair)26 Cyprus27 Devon Rex28 Donskoy (Don Sphynx)29 Dwarf (Dwelf)30 Egyptian Mau31 European Shorthair32 Exotic Shorthair33 German Rex34 Himalayan (Colorpoint Persian)35 Japanese Bobtail36 Javanese37 Kurilian Bobtail38 Khao Manee39 Korat40 LaPerm41 Maine Coon42 Manx43 Munchkin44 Nebelung45 Norwegian Forest46 Ocicat47 Oriental Shorthair48 Traditional Persian49 Pixie-bob50 Ragamuffin51 Ragdoll52 Russian Blue53 Savannah54 Scottish Fold55 Selkirk Rex56 Serengeti57 Serrade petit58 Siamese59 Siberian60 Singapura61 Snowshoe62 Sokoke63 Somali64 Sphynx65 Thai66 Tonkinese67 Toyger68 Turkish Angora69 Turkish VanLegal notice: We believe our images fall under the fair usedoctrine as they are reduced size and excerpted for informationalpurposes/or public domain. The dog was the first domesticatedanimal and has been widely kept as a working, hunting, and petcompanion. According to recent coarse estimates, there arecurrently between 700 million and one billion dogs, making them themost abundant predators in the world. The term "domestic dog" is generally used for both of thedomesticated and feral varieties. The English word dog comes fromMiddle English dogge, from Old English docga, a "powerful dogbreed". It is believedthis "dog" type was so common, it eventually became the prototypeof the category "hound". By the 16th century, dog had become thegeneral word, and hound had begun to refer only to types used forhunting. Hound, cognate to German Hund, Dutch hond, commonScandinavian hund, and Icelandic hundur, is ultimately derived fromthe Proto-Indo-European *kwon- "dog", found in Sanskrit kukuurWelsh ci (plural cwn), Latin canis, Greek kýōn, and Lithuanianšuõ.In breeding circles, a male canine is referred to as a dog, while a female is called a bitch (Middle English bicche, from OldEnglish bicce, ultimately from Old Norse bikkja). Features:Save to SDSet as wallpaperA monkey is a primate of the Haplorrhini suborder and simianinfraorder, either an Old World monkey or a New World monkey, butexcluding apes and humans. There are about 260 known living speciesof monkey. Many are arboreal, although there are species that liveprimarily on the ground, such as baboons. Monkeys are generallyconsidered to be intelligent. Unlike apes, monkeys usually havetails. Tailless monkeys may be called "apes", incorrectly accordingto modern usage; thus the tailless Barbary macaque is called the"Barbary ape".The New World monkeys (superfamily Ceboidea) are classified withinthe parvorder of Platyrrhini, whereas the Old World monkeys(superfamily Cercopithecoidea) form part of the parvorderCatarrhini, which also includes the hominoids (apes, includinghumans). Thus, as Old World monkeys are more closely related tohominoids than they are to New World monkeys, the monkeys are not aunitary (monophyletic) group.Examples of photos:01 Common marmoset02 Two marmosets03 Common Marmoset in Zoo Hannover, Germany04 Black-tufted marmoset...11 Closeup on the golden lion tamarin's face12 Family groups may consist of up to eight members13 Golden-headed lion tamarin14 Black-lion tamarin San Paulo Zoo...31 White-headed capuchin33 Manuel Antonio National Park, Costa Rica34 White-fronted capuchin35 Tufted capuchin36 Male Tufted Capuchin...42 Central American squirrel monkey43 Common squirrel monkey44 Black-capped squirrel monkey45 Black squirrel monkey46 Gray-handed night monkey...48 White-eared titi49 White-eared titi50 Brown titi51 Red-bellied titi...56 White-faced saki57 Rio Tapajos saki58 Equatorial saki59 Uta Hick’s bearded saki...Legal notice: We believe our images fall under the fair usedoctrine as they are reduced size and excerpted for informationalpurposes/or public domain. Healthy Weight Calculator 2.1
uniplayapps
Enter your parameters or parameters ofyourchild and determine how much your weight is normal. If theweightexceeds the norm, the calculator will calculate not only thenormalweight, but will schedule targets, the achievement of whichwillsignificantly reduce the damage to health. In one calculator program hidden several mathematical modelstodetermine normal weight: for adults, for children (even foranewborn child), for pregnant women. Use and enjoy! How to determine the healthy parameters? To calculate the normal body mass of adults used the bodymassindex (BMI) formula. In the first half of the XIX centuryBelgianscientist Adolphe Quetelet observed that the rate of adultbodyweight is well interpolated by the function BMI = W / H 2 ,wherethe BMI (body mass index) — a variable which is obtainedbydividing the weight (W) man on his squared height (H). Moreover, acentury later, in 1972, the American scientist Ancel Keysshowedthat if based only on height and weight man, Queteletformulapredicts well the fat in the human body, and hence the lackof, orexcess of normal. As can be seen from the above, determine your BMI is very easy—divide your weight by height squared. For example, for 1,80 m and 80 kg BMI = 80/(1,8)2 = 80/3,24=24,7.After BMI calculating, to determine whether the weight isnormalor no, you can use the following table. To facilitate the determination of BMI, we did twospecialtables: "What is my BMI?" And "How I far away from theidealweight?". The first table is a comfortable visual text formrepeatsthe pattern from the BMI article from the "Wikipedia". Ifyou can'tdetermine the BMI, simply find the row and columncorresponding toyour height and weight. The second table is much more interesting. In it are not BMIvalues, and right amount of missing or extra pounds, that you havetocollect. You can even print it out and hang it on the wall-everyone can look at it and then decide what and how much iswrongwith his weight. For children and pregnant women a universal formula is notfound,so the rules are used to determine the so-called"centiletables".If you want the calculator has been added a new feature, ormakeit more comfortable, or just want to communicate something tothedevelopers - leave a review. Your opinion is very importanttous!Remember that calculations based only on numerical parametersofthe human body, must be interpreted with caution. If thecalculatorgives a warning of an abnormality, it does not mean thatyouurgently need to get on a strict diet, or vice versa, overeatsenseless. If a weight problem you have - first of all thinkaboutthe way of life and the balance of calories consumed andburned. Ifit comes to children, or during pregnancy - a finalconclusion canonly give the doctor.

Traditionally, two species are recognised, theAfrican elephant (Loxodonta africana) and the Asianelephant(Elephas maximus), although some evidence suggests thatAfricanbush and African forest elephants are separate species (L.africanaand L. cyclotis respectively). Elephants are scatteredthroughoutsub-Saharan Africa, and South and Southeast Asia. Theyare the onlysurviving proboscideans; extinct species includemammoths andmastodons. The largest living terrestrial animals, maleAfrican canreach a height of 4 m (13 ft) and weigh 7,000 kg (15,000lb). Theseanimals have several distinctive features, including alongproboscis or trunk used for many purposes, particularlyforgrasping objects. Their incisors grow into tusks, which serveastools for moving objects and digging and as weapons forfighting. The large ear flaps help to control the temperature of itsbody.African have larger ears and concave backs while Asian havesmallerears and convex or level backs.Elephants are herbivorous and can be found in differenthabitatsincluding savannahs, forests, deserts and marshes. Theyprefer tostay near water. They are considered to be keystonespecies due totheir impact on their environments. Other animalstend to keeptheir distance, and predators such as lions, tigers, hyenas andwild dogs usually target only the young elephants (or"calves").Females (or "cows") tend to live in family groups, whichcanconsist of one female with her calves or several relatedfemaleswith offspring. The latter are led by the oldest cow, knownas thematriarch. Animals have a fission-fusion society in whichmultiplefamily groups come together to socialise. Males (or"bulls") leavetheir family groups when they reach puberty, and maylive alone orwith other males. Adult bulls mostly interact withfamily groupswhen looking for a mate and enter a state of increasedtestosteroneand aggression known as musth, which helps them gaindominance andreproductive success. Calves are the centre ofattention in theirfamily groups and rely on their mothers for aslong as three years.Elephants can live up to 70 years in the wild. They communicate bytouch, sight, and sound; use infrasound, andseismic communicationover long distances, intelligence has beencompared with that ofprimates and cetaceans. They appear to haveself-awareness and showempathy for dying or dead individuals oftheir kind.African are listed as vulnerable by the International UnionforConservation of Nature (IUCN), while the Asian elephant isclassedas endangered. One of the biggest threats to populations istheivory trade, as the animals are poached for their ivorytusks.Other threats to wild include habitat destruction andconflictswith local people. Elephants are used as working animalsin Asia.In the past they were used in war; today, they are oftenput ondisplay in zoos and circuses. Elephants are highlyrecognisable andhave been featured in art, folklore, religion, literature andpopular culture.Legal notice: We believe our images fall under the fairusedoctrine as they are reduced size and excerpted forinformationalpurposes/or public domain. World War II Aircraft Bombers HandbookThe Handbook of aircraft of WWII includes all the aircraftusedby those countries which were at war during WWII from theperiodbetween their joining the conflict and the conflict endingforthem.A bomber is a military aircraft designed to attack ground andseatargets, by dropping bombs on them, firing torpedoes at them,or –in recent years – by launching cruise missiles at them. With engine power as a major limitation, combined with thedesirefor accuracy and other operational factors, bomber designstended tobe tailored to specific roles. By the start of the warthisincluded:dive - specially strengthened for vertical diving attacksforgreater accuracy.light, medium and heavy - subjective definitions basedonsize.torpedo - specialized aircraft armed with torpedoes.ground attack aircraft - used against targets on a battlefieldsuchas troop or tank concentrations. A further specialized form wastheanti-tank aircraft.night - specially equipped to operate at night whenopposingdefences are limited.maritime patrol - long range bombers that were used againstenemyshipping, particularly submarines.Bombers are not intended to attack other aircraft although mostwerefitted with defensive weapons. WWII saw the beginning ofthewidespread use of high speed bombers which dispensed withdefensiveweapons to be able to attain higher speed, such as withthe deHavilland Mosquito..Some smaller designs have been used as the basis for nightfighters, and a number of fighters, such as the Hawker Hurricanewere used asground attack aircraft, replacing earlier conventionallight bombersthat proved unable to defend themselves whilecarrying a usefulbombload.Handbook including:Avro LancasterAvro ManchesterBlohm & Voss BV 142Boeing B-17 Flying FortressBoeing B-29 SuperfortressB-24 LiberatorB-32 DominatorPB4Y-2 PrivateerFocke-Wulf Fw 200HalifaxHeinkel He 177Piaggio P.108StirlingA.W.38 WhitleyAvro AnsonB.26 BothaBreda Ba.88 LinceBristol BeaufortCANT Z.1007Caproni Ca.135A-18 Shrike IIDH.98 MosquitoDo 17Do 215Do 217A-20 HavocB-26 InvaderDouglas B-18 BoloB-23 DragonFokker T.VHP.52 HampdenHeinkel He 111Junkers Ju 86Junkers Ju 88Junkers Ju 188Kawasaki Ki-48Lockheed HudsonLockheed VenturaMartin B-10B-26 MarauderMartin BaltimoreMartin MarylandMitsubishi G3MMitsubishi G4MMitsubishi Ki-21Mitsubishi Ki-67Nakajima Ki-49North American B-25 MitchellPetlyakov Pe-2Potez 540Savoia-Marchetti SM.79Savoia-Marchetti SM.81Tupolev TB-1Vickers WellingtonYokosuka P1Y

This war followed the FirstIndochina War and was fought between North Vietnam, supported byits communist allies, and the government of South Vietnam, supported by the United States and other anti-communist countries. The Viet Cong (also known as the National Liberation Front, orNLF), a lightly armed South Vietnamese communist common frontdirected by the North, largely fought a guerrilla war againstanti-communist forces in the region. The Vietnam People's Army(North Vietnamese Army) engaged in a more conventional war, attimes committing large units into battle. U.S. and South Vietnameseforces relied on air superiority and overwhelming firepower toconduct search and destroy operations, involving ground forces, artillery, and airstrikes.Vietnam War Aircraft including:Northrop F-5C Freedom Fighters refuelingLing-Temco-Vought A-7A-4a-CV CorsairFour McDonnell F-4C PhantomMcDonnell Douglas TA-4F SkyhawkBoeing B-52F-65-BW StratofortressCH-53A Sea StallionUSS ForrestalDouglas A-1J SkyraiderGrumman A-6C IntruderBell UH-1E HueyUC-123B ProviderUH-1DMartin B-57BSikorsky HH-53EMartin SP-5B MarlinVought A-7A CorsairDouglas A-4E SkyhawkSikorsky SH-3A Sea KingNorth American F-100D-30-NA Super SabreBristol FreighterFairchild C-123K ProviderCH-54 SkycraneGrumman F9F-2 PantherDouglas RB-66B-DL DestroyerUSS carrier USS Intrepid (CV-11) and an A-12 Blackbirdde Havilland Canada DHC-5Douglas EF-10B SkyknightLockheed C-130A HerculesGrumman E-1B TracersGeneral Dynamics F-111AsCessna 0-1E Bird DogLockheed EC-121D Warning StarAircraft carrier USS RangerLockheed P-3A-50-LO OrionRepublic F-105D ThunderchiefGrumman EA-6A IntruderLockheed YF-12AOV-1 MohawkAircraft carrier USS Intrepid (CVS-11)Nortrop F-5C Freedom FighterLockheed C-130B/E HerculesAttack aircraft carrier USS Oriskany (CVA-34)Aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea (CVA-43)Lockheed OP-2E NeptuneNissile cruiser USS Long Beach (CGN-9)McDonnell RF-101CDouglas VC-118B LiftmasterQU-22Kaman HH-2C SeaspriteLing-Temco-Vought A-7B CorsairBoeing KC-135A StratotankerBoeing B-52D-35-BW StratofortressVought F-8E CrusaderAircraft carrier USS Bon Homme RichardF-105 ThunderchiefAircraft carriers USS OriskanyDe Havilland C-7B CaribouCessna O-2A-CE Super SkymasterDouglas EKA-3B SkywarriorAircraft carrier USS Franklin D. World War II Aircraft Heavy Fighters HandbookThe Handbook of Fighters aircraft of World War II includesallthe Heavy Fighters aircraft used by those countries which wereatwar during World War II from the period between their joiningtheconflict and the conflict ending for them.A heavy fighter isa fighteraircraft designed to carry heavier weapons oroperate atlonger ranges. To achieve acceptable performance, mostheavyfighters were twin-engined, and many had multi-placecrews.The twin-engine heavy fighter was a major design class duringthepre-World War II period. Conceivedaslong-range escort fighters, orheavily-armed bomberdestroyers, heavy fighters largely failedin their intended rolesduring World War II, as they could notoutmaneuver the moreconventional, single-engined fighters. Manytwin-engined heavyfighters eventually found their nicheas night fighters, withconsiderable successes. Onlythe Northrop P-61 BlackWidow of the USAAF wasever built from the start, during the World War II era, solely to bea night fighter.A major heavy fighter design was the Messerschmitt Bf110,a German fighter that, prior to thewar, the Luftwaffe considered more important thantheirsingle-engine fighters. Many of the best pilots were assignedto Bf110 squadrons, and they were specificallydesignatedasZerstцrer ("destroyer") units. While other, lighter, fighters were mainly intended for defense, the destroyerswere theones mainly intended for offensive missions: to escortbomberson missions at long range, then use its superior speed tooutrundefending fighters that would be capable of outmaneuveringit. Thisdoctrine proved to be a costly mistake. In practicethe Bf 110was only capable of using this combination of featuresfor a shorttime; it served well against the HawkerHurricane duringthe Battle of France, but was easilyoutperformed bythe Supermarine Spitfire duringthe Battle ofBritain (also in terms of maximum speed).Eventually Bf 110swere convertedto interceptors (especially nightfighters) andground-attack aircraft for rest of the war.During the late 1930s, Bell Aircraft ofthe UnitedStates designed the YFM-1Airacuda "bomberdestroyer". Very large and heavily armed, theAiracuda was plaguedwith design flaws; only 13 examples wereeventually built, none ofwhich participated in WWII.The most successful heavy fighter of the war wasthe LockheedP-38 Lightning. It was designed to carry heavyarmament at highspeed or long range. For a variety of reasons, notably itsexcellent twinGeneralElectric-designed turbochargers and its crew ofone(rather than two or three), it dramatically outperformed itsGermanand British counterparts. In service it was used as anescortfighter, following B-17 Flying Fortress raids deepintoGerman-held Europe where it was able to hold its own with themuchlighter German fighters. In its escort role, the P-38 was thefirstAllied fighter over Berlin. It was also highly successful inthePacific theatre, where its long range proved a pivotaladvantage.Expensive to produce and maintain, it was relegated toother roleswhen the single-engined but equallylong-ranged P-51DMustang reached squadrons.Handbook including:Bell YFM-1 AiracudaBristol Type 156 BeaufighterBoulton Paul DefiantBlackburn B-25 RocBlackburn B-24 Skuade Havilland DH.98 MosquitoDornier Do 217Dornier Do 335 Pfeil ("Arrow")Douglas A-20/DB-7 HavocFairey FireflyFairey FulmarFocke-Wulf Ta 154 MoskitoGrumman F7F TigercatHeinkel He 219 Uhu ("Eagle-Owl")IMAM Ro.57Junkers Ju 88Junkers Ju 388 StortebekerKawasaki Ki-45 Toryu ("Dragon Slayer")Kawasaki Ki-102Lockheed P-38 LightningMesserschmitt Bf 110Messerschmitt Me 210Mitsubishi Ki-67 Hiryu ("Flying Dragon")Northrop P-61 Black WidowWestland WelkinWestland WhirlwindVickers Type 432Dornier Do 215Gloster F.9/37 aka Gloster G.39Lockheed XP-58 Chain Lightning

Species in the Cervidae familyincludewhite-tailed deer, mule deer such as black-tailed deer, elk, moose, red deer, reindeer (caribou), fallow deer, roe deer andchital.Male deer of all species (except the Chinese water deer) andalsofemale reindeer grow and shed new antlers each year. In thistheydiffer from permanently horned animals such as antelope; thesearein the same order as deer and may bear a superficialresemblance. The musk deer of Asia and water chevrotain (or mousedeer) oftropical African and Asian forests are not usually regardedas truedeer and form their own families, Moschidae andTragulidae, respectively.Deer weights generally range from 30 to 300 kg (70 to 700lb),though the smallest species, the Northern Pudú, averages 10 kg(20lb) and the largest, the moose, averages 431 kg (1,000 lb).Theygenerally have lithe, compact bodies and long, powerful legssuitedfor rugged woodland terrain. Deer are also excellent jumpersandswimmers. Deer are ruminants, or cud-chewers, and haveafour-chambered stomach. The teeth of deer are adapted to feedingonvegetation, and like other ruminants, they lack upperincisors, instead having a tough pad at the front of their upperjaw. Somedeer, such as those on the island of Rùm, do consume meatwhen itis available. In On the Origin of Species (1859), Charles Darwinwrote"Although I do not know of any thoroughly well-authenticatedcasesof perfectly fertile hybrid animals, I have some reason tobelievethat the hybrids from Cervulus vaginalis and Reevesii [...]areperfectly fertile." These two varieties of muntjac arecurrentlyconsidered the same species.A number of deer hybrids are bred to improve meat yield infarmeddeer. American elk (or wapiti) and Red Deer from the OldWorld canproduce fertile offspring in captivity, and were onceconsideredone species. Hybrid offspring, however, must be able toescape anddefend themselves against predators, and these hybridoffspring areunable to do so in the wild state. Recent DNA, animalbehaviorstudies, and morphology and antler characteristics haveshown thereare not one but three species of Red Deer: European reddeer,Central Asian red deer, and American elk. The European elk isadifferent species and is known as moose in North America.Thehybrids are about 30% more efficient in producing antlersbycomparing velvet to body weight. Wapiti have been introducedintosome European red deer herds to improve the Red Deer type, butnotalways with the intended improvement.

It is the largest member of its family, withmalesaveraging 43–45 kg (95–99 lb), and females 36–38.5 kg (79–85lb).It is similar in general appearance and proportions to aGermanshepherd, or sled dog, but has a larger head, narrowerchest, longer legs, straighter tail and bigger paws. Its winter furislong and bushy, and predominantly a mottled gray incolour, although nearly pure white, red, or brown to blackalsooccur.Within the genus Canis, the gray wolf represents a morespecialisedand progressive form than its smaller cousins (thecoyote andgolden jackal), as demonstrated by its morphologicaladaptations tohunting large prey, its more gregarious nature andits highlyadvanced expressive behavior. It is a social animal, travelling innuclear families consisting of a mated pair, accompanied by thepair's adult offspring. Canis lupus is typicallyan apex predatorthroughout its range, with only humans and tigersposing a seriousthreat to it. It feeds primarily on largeungulates, though it alsoeats smaller animals, livestock, carrion, and garbage. This is one of the world's most well researched animals, withprobably more books written about it than any otherwildlifespecies. It has a long history of association with humans, havingbeen despised and hunted in most agricultural communities duetoits attacks on livestock, while conversely being respected bysomeNative American tribes. It is the sole ancestor of the dog, whichwas first domesticated in the Middle East. Although the fearofwolves is prevalent in many human societies, the majorityofrecorded attacks on people have been attributed toanimalssuffering from rabies. Non-rabid wolves have attacked andkilledpeople, mainly children, but this is unusual, as wolvesarerelatively few, live away from people, and have been taught tofearhumans by hunters and shepherds. Hunting and trapping hasreducedthe species' range to about one third, though its stillrelativelywidespread range and stable population means that thespecies isnot threatened at a global level, and is thereforeclassified bythe IUCN as Least Concern.Legal notice: We believe our images fall under the fairusedoctrine as they are reduced size and excerpted forinformationalpurposes/or public domain. Snake GalleryFeatures:Save to SDSet as wallpaperSnakes are elongate, legless, carnivorous reptiles of thesuborderSerpentes that can be distinguished from legless lizards bytheirlack of eyelids and external ears. Like all squamates, snakesareectothermic, amniote vertebrates covered in overlappingscales. Many species of snakes have skulls with many more jointsthan theirlizard ancestors, enabling them to swallow prey muchlarger thantheir heads with their highly mobile jaws. Toaccommodate theirnarrow bodies, snakes' paired organs (such askidneys) appear onein front of the other instead of side by side, and most have onlyone functional lung. Some species retain a pelvicgirdle with apair of vestigial claws on either side of thecloaca.Living snakes are found on almost every continent(exceptAntarctica), in the Pacific and Indian Oceans, and on mostsmallerland masses — exceptions include some large islands, suchasIreland and New Zealand, and many small islands of the Atlanticandcentral Pacific. More than 20 families are currentlyrecognized, comprising about 500 genera and about 3,400species.Front limbs are nonexistent in all known snakes. This is causedbythe evolution of Hox genes, controlling limb morphogenesis.Theaxial skeleton of the snakes’ common ancestor, like mostothertetrapods, had regional specializations consisting ofcervical(neck), thoracic (chest), lumbar (lower back), sacral(pelvic), andcaudal (tail) vertebrae. Early in snake evolution, theHox geneexpression in the axial skeleton responsible for thedevelopment ofthe thorax became dominant. As a result, thevertebrae anterior tothe hindlimb buds (when present) all have thesame thoracic-likeidentity (except from the atlas, axis, and 1–3neck vertebrae). Inother words, most of a snake’s skeleton is anextremely extendedthorax. Ribs are found exclusively on thethoracic vertebrae. Neck, lumbar and pelvic vertebrae are veryreduced in number (only 2–10lumbar and pelvic vertebrae arepresent), while only a short tailremains of the caudal vertebrae. However, the tail is still longenough to be of important use inmany species, and is modified insome aquatic and tree-dwellingspecies.Modern snakes greatly diversified during the Paleocene.Thisoccurred alongside the adaptive radiation of mammals, followingtheextinction of (non-avian) dinosaurs. The colubrids, one of themorecommon snake groups, became particularly diverse due to preyingonrodents, an especially successful mammal group.Legal notice: We believe our images fall under the fair usedoctrineas they are reduced size and excerpted for informationalpurposes/orpublic domain.
