Universal Compass is a compass, that canpointto any location you want. (It also points north.)THIS IS A DEMO: You can only create and edit onepersonallocation at a time.Create new locations you want to point to by either enteringthecoordinates manually or selecting them on a map. Finally chooseaneasily recognizable color for each location.After creating your locations, select which of them you wanttodisplay on the compass. Longpress a location in the listtoedit/delete it.The map supports simple search functionality and a "MyLocation"button in the top right corner. If a location can't befound, tryadding city and/or country to the query.By default, Universal Compass will use your network locationtofigure out where other locations are in relation to you. Whenthedistance to a location is smaller than the current accuracyallows,Universal Compass will try to get a GPS signal. You can alsochooseto always have GPS enabled in the settings.Saved locations can be exported to an xml file. Exportedfileswill be saved in /sdcard/UniversalCompass. The full versionalsooffers import functionality.NOTE: When your device is connected to a PC via USB: Due to abugin Android you may have to restart your device for theexportedfiles to become available on PC.NOTE: Due to the method of calculating the orientation ofthedevice, the displayed compass bearing can be inaccurate whilethedevice experiences acceleration.Required Permissions:- Location: necessary for calculating bearing tootherlocations- Vibration: give user feedback when selecting a location onmapThis app uses the Google Maps Android API v2, which requiresthefollowing permissions:- Network access: download map tiles from Google Maps servers- View network connections: check the connection status in ordertodetermine whether data can be downloaded- Read Google services: allows the API to access Googleweb-basedservices- Write to external storage: cache map tile data in thedevice'sexternal storage area
