Dattatreya or Dattā is a paradigmatic Sannyasi (monk) and one ofthe lords of Yoga in Hinduism. In many regions of India and Nepal,he is considered a deity. In Maharashtra, he is a syncretisticdeity, considered to be an avatar (incarnation) of the three Hindugods Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, collectively known as Trimurti. Inother regions, and some versions of texts such as the GarudaPurana, Brahma Purana and Sattvata Samhita, he is an avatar ofVishnu. His iconography varies regionally. In western Maharashtra, for example, he is typically shown with three heads and six hands, one head each for Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, and one pair of handholding the symbolic items associated with each of these gods:rosary and water pot of Brahma, conch and wheel of Visnu, tridentand drum of Shiva. He is typically dressed as a simple monk oralmost naked, situated in a forest or wilderness suggestive of hisrenunciation of worldly goods and pursuit of a meditative yogilifestyle. In paintings and some large carvings, he is surroundedby four dogs and a cow, which is a symbolism for the four Vedas andmother earth that nourishes all living beings. In the temples ofsouthern Maharashtra, Varanasi and in the Himalayas, hisiconography shows him with one head and two hands with four dogsand a cow. According to Rigopoulos, in the Nath tradition ofShaivism, Dattatreya is revered as the Adi-Guru (First Teacher) ofthe Adinath Sampradaya of the Nathas, the first "Lord of Yoga" withmastery of Tantra (techniques). His pursuit of simple life, kindness to all, sharing of his knowledge and the meaning of lifeduring his travels is reverentially mentioned in the poems byTukaram, a saint-poet of the Bhakti movement. Over time, Dattatreyahas inspired many monastic movements in Shaivism, Vaishnavism andShaktism, particularly in the Deccan region of India, south India,Gujarat, Rajasthan and Himalayan regions where Shiva tradition hasbeen strong. According to Mallinson, Dattatreya is not thetraditional guru of the Nath sampradaya, he was coopted by the Nathtradition in about the 18th century as a guru, as a part ofVishnu-Shiva syncretism. This is evidenced by the Marathi textNavanathabhaktisara, states Mallinson, wherein there is syncreticfusion of the Nath Sampradaya with the Mahanubhav sect byidentifying nine Naths with nine Narayanas. Several Upanishads arededicated to him, as are texts of the Advaita Vedanta-Yogatradition in Hinduism.[10] One of the most important texts ofAdvaita Vedanta, namely Avadhuta Gita (literally, "song of thefree") is attributed to Dattatreya. In Maharashtra, an annualfestival in the Hindu calendar month of Mārgaśīrṣa(November/December) reveres Dattatreya and this is called DattaJayanti. [b] Aartis [b] * Trigunatmak Trimurti Aarti

And its gravitational force is 95 times higherthanthat of the earth. Planet Shani takes 19 years to completeonerevolution around the Sun. The astronauts have viewedShani'scolors as beautiful, strong, influencing and eye-catching.It hastwenty-two satellites in its ring. Shani's gravitationalpower ismore than that of the Earth's. Therefore, when we thinkgood or badthoughts and make plans, they reach Shani by thestrength of hispower. In astrological terms, the bad influence isconsidered asunlucky. But the result of good deeds will be good. Therefore, wemust understand God Shani as a friend and not as foe.And for baddeeds, he is Sade Saathi, disaster and an enemy. Asregards thebirth of Shani, there are different stories. Foremostand acceptedis the one in the ancient 'Scanda Poorana' of KasiKhanda which isas follows. God Soorya was married to Daksha KanyaSadnya. Sadnyacould not tolerate the radiance of God Surya. Sheused to feel thatby doing penance she could increase herbrilliance. Or, by thepower of her penance, she could diminish theglare of God Surya. But for God Surya, she was a spouse worshippingwife. From GodSurya, she had three children. One was VaivastahvaManu. The secondwas Yama Raj. And the third was Yamuna. Sadnyaloved her childrenvery much. But, she was very upset with theradiance of God Surya. One day, she thought that she would separatefrom God Surya, go toher parents' home and undertake great penance. And if there wasopposition, she would go far away to a lonely andundertake greatpenance. By strength of her penance, Sadnya createda 'Chaya'(shadow) of herself and named her Suvarna. And, and thenthe shadowof herself became Suvarna. After handing over thechildren toChaya, Sadnya told her that Chaya would thereafter playthe role ofwomanhood and nurse her three children. She told her ifany problemarose, she should call her and she would come rushing toher. Butshe cautioned her that she must remember that she wasChaya, notSadnya, and nobody should know this difference. Sadnyahander overher responsibilities to Chaya and went away to herparents' place. She went home and told her father that she could notstand theradiance of God Surya. And therefore, without telling herhusbandshe had come away. Listening to this, her father scolded herverymuch and told her that without being called, if thedaughterreturns home, both her and her father would be cursed. Hetold herto go back to her home immediately. Then, Saudnya began toworrythat if she went back, what would happen to theresponsibilitieswhich she had given to Chaya. Where would Chaya go?And theirsecret would be exposed. So, Sadnya went to the densejungles inUttar Kurukshetra and took repose there. She was fearfulof hersafety in the jungle because of her youthfulness and beauty.Andshe changed her form into that of a mare so that nonecouldrecognize her and started her penance. Elsewhere, the union ofGodSurya and Chaya begot three children. God Surya and Chayawerehappy with each other. Surya never doubted anything. Shani is one of the Navagraha of Jyotiṣa.The word shani alsodenotesthe seventh day or Saturday in most Indian languages.Shaniis a devaand son of Surya and his wife Chhaya, hence also knownasChayyaputra.Shani is also known as the lord of masses andhisblessings are thus considered very important in anindividual'shoroscope for bestowing him with mass following andpopularity.Shani is a Deva and son of Surya and his wife Chhaya, hence alsoknown as Chayyaputra. He is the elder brother of Yama, the Hindugod of death, who in some scriptures corresponds to thedeliveranceof justice. Surya's two sons Shani dev and Yama judge.Shani devgives the results of one's deeds through one's lifethroughappropriate punishments and rewards; Yama grants the resultsofone's deeds after death. Shani as a planet appears in variousHinduastronomical texts in Sanskrit, such as the 5th centuryAryabhatiyaby Aryabhatta, the 6th century Romaka by Latadeva andPancaSiddhantika by Varahamihira, the 7th century KhandakhadyakabyBrahmagupta and the 8th century Sisyadhivrddida byLalla.[3][4][5]These texts present Shani as one of the planets andestimate thecharacteristics of the respective planetary motion.[3]Other textssuch as Surya Siddhanta dated to have been completesometimebetween the 5th century and 10th century present theirchapters onvarious planets as divine knowledge linked todeities.[3] Themanuscripts of these texts exist in slightlydifferent versions, present Shani's motion in the skies, but vary intheir data, suggesting that the text were open and revised overtheir lives. The texts slightly disagree in their data, in theirmeasurements ofShani's revolutions, apogee, epicycles, nodallongitudes, orbitalinclination, and other parameters.[6] Forexample, bothKhandakhadyaka and Surya Siddhanta of Varaha statethat Shanicompletes 146,564 revolutions on its own axis every4,320,000 earthyears, an Epicycle of Apsis as 60 degrees, and hadan apogee(aphelia) of 240 degrees in 499 CE; while anothermanuscript ofSurya Siddhanta revises the revolutions to 146,568,the apogee to236 degrees and 37 seconds and the Epicycle to about49 degrees.[7]Shani's gravitational power is more than that of theEarth's.Therefore, when we think good or bad thoughts and makeplans, theyreach Shani by the strength of his power. Inastrological terms, the bad influence is considered as unlucky. Butthe result of gooddeeds will be good. Therefore, we must understandGod Shani as afriend and not as foe. And for bad deeds, he is SadeSaathi, disaster and an enemy. Shani Mantra Shir Shani Chalisa OmNamoShanideva Om Shaneshcharay Namah
