The Unique Academy is sincerely committedtowards the goal of an egalitarian and democratic society where thediscriminatory walls between rich and poor, urban and rural, upperand lower castes, men and women, English speaking and vernacularetc don’t inhibit the opportunities for development of one’s innerpotential. Moreover it aims at eradication of all such divides. Forthis to happen, the Academy believes, it is very necessary that thedeprived sections of society have to be empowered in the real senseof the term.The Unique Academy strongly believes that if the real empowermentof the teeming millions has to materialize rapidly, the polity andsociety have to be sensitive towards the prevailing injustices,inequalities and oppressions in the society. It is equallynecessary that the future Indian leadership, the decision makers,should hail from the hitherto marginalized, deprived and oppressedsections of the society. For, they can ensure that the systemdoesn’t become exploitative, but becomes more responsive,responsible and humane. Hence the Academy strives hard to sendsocially sensitive and responsive candidates in the civil servicesso that they can make every effort to change the ‘system’ fromwithin. With such noble intentions at heart, the Unique Academydecided to focus on enabling aspirants to make successful careersin state and central Civil services. Thus, for the Academy,coaching for civil services is a means to bring about a positivechange in bureaucracy and thereby in the society at large. Themotto of the Academy “empowerment through knowledge” manifests thisvery ethos of the Academy. In order to realize its objective ofshaping up sensitive and socially committed bureaucrats, especiallyfrom the hitherto marginalized sections of the society, the Academyis constantly engaged in the task of spreading the awareness ofcompetitive exams in the nooks and corners of Maharashtra,especially in rural areas so that more and more students can becomesuccessful in them. Apart from taking regular batches for UPSC/MPSC examinations and IAS Foundation Course, the Academy is busyorganizing free workshops, seminars, conferences, lecture series bysuccessful candidates, Friday Frontline, Publication of usefulstudy material and books with a special focus on Marathi mediumstudents, running a book store for easy and convenient access tobooks for students, so on and so forth. Through its meticulouslydesigned courses, activities and publications the Unique Academyprovides relevant and pragmatic guidance to the students.Unique Academy along with coaching, also offers personal guidanceto each individual student on holistic development of his/herpersonality.
