An optional in-appproductis available for purchase that will remove the ads.FFXIVOA is an app that allows the user to look atvariousdifferent opener rotations and compare the differences madebymoving skills and abilities around. It attempts to trackoverallskill potency and elapsed time to calculate aPPS(potency-per-second) for each opener. Since it works onpotencyalone, the user only needs to provide skill speed, spellspeed, andweapon delay (for auto-attacks) to use theapplication.Due to the complexity of the system, some aspects aresimplifiedin the FFXIVOA model:- In an attempt to compare apples-to-apples, random proctypeevents (free fire 3 on BLM, increased potencies on MCH, etc)areignored unless they are forced by an ability (sharpcast,etc).- DoTs are simulated by applying the first dot tick 1.5secondsafter skill application, and every 3 seconds after that.This isslightly different than how the game handles DoTs but shouldgive areasonable approximation.- Cooldowns and combo requirements are not enforced - theuserneeds to validate rotations are actually viable.- Some conditions are assumed, for instance fester assumes3dots, positionals are always assumed correct, etc.- Summoner is assumed to be using the Garuda pet, andMachinistis assumed to be using the Rook turret.- A critical hit is assumed to be +50% potency. The gamescalescritical hit bonus based on the amount of critical hitsecondaryskill. This value is adjustable in-app.- Auto-attacks are not 'turned off' during skills that havecasttimes, delays, etc.- The 'pause' between skills/abilities that are oGCD isaccountedfor by an adjustable 'delay' value between skills. Thedefault valueis set at 0.7s which seemed to match testing fairlywell. This valueis probably dependent on network lag and can beadjusted in-app.
