Millerbecame the first president of ICSA in January 1916.No other readily available information regarding the earlyhistory of the Association is available until 1949 when, by actionof the membership, the name of the organization was changed to"Illinois Chamber of Commerce Executives." In 1961, the presentname, "Illinois Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives" wasadopted by official action of the membership. This resulted fromour National Organization, which adopted "American Chamber ofCommerce Executives" as its official name.The by-laws of IACCE were adopted in January 1915, amended inJanuary 1949, in June of 1951, in December of 1956, in December of1961, in May of 1970, in May of 1974, in May of 1982, and inNovember of 1998, when the titles were changed from Chief VoluntaryOfficer to Chairman and Chief Administrative Officer toPresident.It is interesting to note that in 1939, a joint meeting was heldin Waukesha, Wisconsin with the Wisconsin Association of CommercialOrganization Secretaries. A similar meeting of both organizationswas held the following year in Bloomington, Illinois.
