BFPO Apps

The BFPO Track & Trace Application willenable certain letters and parcels from carriers such as RoyalMail, Parcelforce and BFPO to be tracked whilst the item is in theBFPO mail pipeline - (see https://www.gov.uk/british-forces-post-office-servicesfor a full list of products supported). By entering or scanning anitem's barcode, the BFPO Track & Trace App will show the routethat the item will take, the expected delivery times at each nodeand its actual location; it will also provide a graphical view ofthat information on a map. The App also supports push notificationsso you will receive up to date information of where your item isand its expected delivery date.The BFPO Track & Trace App compliments the BFPO Information Apphttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=gov.mod.bfpo.checkerwhich allows customers to access up to date information on the mostpopular range of products and services that the BFPO provides; itwill also facilitate the printing of a barcode that can be trackedusing the BFPO Track & Trace App.

What is e-bluey?When the British Forces are deployed on operations they areentitledto free aerogrammes (colloquially known as "blueys"because of theircolour) to and from their families and friends.This service hasbeen in place for a considerable time. Blueys aswe know them todaywere issued for the first time during the earlydays of the NorthernIreland deployment. More recently BFPO,working in conjunction withSuperLetter.com, has pioneered anelectronic form of the bluey knownas ‘e-bluey'.The e-bluey is a Hybrid mail system that allowsservicepersonnel, relatives and friends to maintain a personal andprivatecontact with each other while serving on operations orexercise formore than 60 days duration. Probably the most importantfactor isthat the system is two way. This means those servicepersonnel withaccess to the Internet can send e-bluey letters backhome.Who is entitled to use the service?Family and friends of HM Forces or MOD civilians, serving atanoperational location or exercise overseas, are entitled to usethee-bluey service.
