Het Gecommentarieerd Geneesmiddelenrepertoriumwordt uitgegeven door het “Belgisch Centrum voorFarmacotherapeutische Informatie” (BCFI). Het BCFI is een vzwerkend en gesubsidieerd door het Federaal Agentschap voorGeneesmiddelen en Gezondheidsproducten (FAGG). Het doel van hetBCFI is informatie over geneesmiddelen op de Belgische markt teverstrekken aan gezondheidswerkers. Deze softwareapplicatie, diezoals de website www.bcfi.be het Repertorium ontsluit, is bedoeldvoor artsen, apothekers en tandartsen, evenals studenten van dezedisciplines. Er is een maandelijkse update.De bedoeling van dit Repertorium is het rationele gebruik vangeneesmiddelen te bevorderen. Rationeel gebruik betekent dat enkelgeneesmiddelen worden aangewend waarvoor gevalideerde studiesbestaan, dat men deze geneesmiddelen adequaat gebruikt (quaindicaties, contra-indicaties, posologie, interacties...) en datmen rekening houdt met de kostprijs. In dit verband dient de notievan “op evidentie gebaseerde farmacotherapie“ te worden vermeld:het is belangrijk te weten wat de evidentie omtrent derisico-batenverhouding van een geneesmiddel is.The public pharmacy ispublished by the "Belgian Centre for PharmacotherapeuticInformation" (BCFI). This softwareapplication, such as enabling the website www.bcfi.be the Directoryis intended for physicians, pharmacists and dentists, as well asstudents of these disciplines. There is a monthly update.The purpose of this Directory is to promote the rational use ofmedicines. Rational use means that only medicines are used forwhich validated studies exist that one adequately used these drugs(in terms of indications, contraindications, dosage, interactions,...) and that takes into account the cost. In this context, thenotion of "evidence-based pharmacotherapy" to be mentioned: it isimportant to know what the evidence is on the risk-benefit ratio ofa drug.
