This is the paid version of Brass Gears Clock LWP. It increasesyourdisplay options many times over by allowing choice of: NotVisible,Brass, Steel, Black Outline, and White Outline for allclockelements. There are over one hundred thousand differentdisplaypossibilities.


This live wallpaper simulates a pendulum clock. A pendulumclockkeeps time using a weight (not shown), gears, and pendulum.Thependulum is 38 and 1/8 inches (994 mm) long from pivot topendulumweight center. Any pendulum of this length, even one youmake athome, will keep very good second by second time.


The clock is comprised of 13 separate "gears": 7 wheels, 4 setsofpins, and 2 pinions. The initial impetus driving the clocktomotion is gravity acting on a weight, not shown, attached to acordwrapped counter-clockwise around the shaft connecting thegreatwheel to the great wheel's pinion (just above the 6o'clockposition). The great wheel's pinion then imparts a clockwiseforceon the hour wheel, while the great wheel imparts a clockwiseforceon the minute wheel's pinion which is attached to and beneaththeminute wheel. The minute wheel's teeth mesh with the pins onthethird wheel driving the third wheel counter-clockwise. Thethirdwheel's teeth mesh with the pins on the fourth wheel drivingthefourth wheel clockwise. The fourth wheel's teeth mesh with thepinson the fifth wheel driving the fifth wheel counter-clockwise.Thefifth wheel's teeth mesh with the pins on the escape wheeldrivingthe escape wheel clockwise. The escape wheel is the end ofthe geartrain.


The speed at which the escape wheel turns is limited by thetwopallet faces of the pallets attached to the pendulum. Thepalletsalternately catch and release the escape wheel once persecond. Inthis way, the pendulum regulates the speed of movement ofall thegears of the clock. If all goes well, the escape wheel willturn360 degrees once every minute, the minute wheel will turn360degrees once every hour, and the hour wheel will turn 360degreesonce every twelve hours.


The hour and minute hand are attached to the hour and minutewheelrespectively. The clock dial features hour and minute markingssothat an observer can tell the current hour of day from thehourhand, and the current minute of the hour from the minutehand.
