Description

With the advent of the 150th anniversary oftheAmerican Civil War (ACW) upon us, this is a simple app + widgetthatwill unfold the news headlines and events of the ACW inreal-time asthey occurred.

This app recreates the experience of what it would have beenliketo read the headlines and news stories unfolding day-by-day...muchlike the BBC or New York Times widget do for news today.

American Civil War Gazette incorporates articles frombothNorthern and Southern newspapers. However, with the advantageofhindsight ACW Gazette attempts to have the stories reveal onthedate (and time where possible) of the actual events rather thanonthe actual date of publication... which was often severaldaysafter the actual event.

To add the widget to your home screen, find a screen that hasonecomplete row clear and hold your finger on the screen until the"Addto Home" menu pops up.

Then, select "Widget" and "American Civil War Gazette".Thewidget is live and will update every 30 minutes.

To see the full article, tap on the widget.

Hopefully, you will find this little experimentintriguing, educational and/or insightful.
