"UNESCO Almaty" Mobile Application for young women and men fromKazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan launched inRussian and English languages. The main target audience of the"UNESCO Almaty" mobile application is the latest generation ofyoung women and men who are using only the Android mobiletechnologies. The app ability to read the content at any time inoffline mode, make it similar to a regular print magazine. Theapplication differs from the UNESCO Office website, mainly by thecontent of the menu and the way to access and store the data. Thenew navigation helping in better understanding on the currentprojects and priorities of UNESCO. Mobile application "UNESCOAlmaty" was the first in a series of other products that areplanned for a mobile digital library implemented in the frameworkof the joint program "Improving the welfare and quality of life inthe Kyzylorda region through innovative approaches to deliveringeconomic, social and environmental services to the localpopulation, including those most vulnerable," implemented by theGovernment and the UN agencies in the Republic of Kazakhstan:UNESCO, UNDP, UNFPA, UN Women, UNICEF and WHO. Project started inJuly 2014 till December 2016.

It isavailable to use this application in Kazakh and Russian online andoffline.Voices of Kyzylorda improves access to the information andknowledge at the local level, discuss local needs and contributedto the sustainable development goals 3) health and well-being, 4)the goals education, 5) gender equality, 6) clean water andsanitation, 7) energy, 8) decent work, 10) reducing inequalities inrural areas, 11) sustainable human settlements, 12), responsibleconsumption and production, 13), climate change, 15) protection ofterrestrial ecosystems, 16) peace, justice, and the effectivenessof institutions, 17) partnership.This mobile application was created in the framework ofKyzylorda joint programme and developed by UNESCO Communication andInformation Unit in cooperation with the Government of the Republicof Kazakhstan, the Ministry of regional development of the Republicof Kazakhstan, Akimat of Kyzylorda oblast and six organizations ofthe UN system – UNDP, UNICEF, UNESCO, UNFPA, WHO and UN Women toenhance well-being and quality of life in the Kyzylorda regionthrough innovative approaches by delivering economic, social andenvironmental services to local population, particularly the mostvulnerable parts of the population.
