The NRA Organization Act of2010newlyestablished the National BroadcastingandTelecommunicationsCommission (NBTC) last December 2010 as asingleconvergedregulator for telecoms and broadcasting sectors. AsofApril 2011,the transitory period is still ongoing and theselectionof NBTCcommissioners is in the process. In the mean time,the NTC;formertelecoms regulatory body, is required to actinterimly as theNBTC.The new Act requires NBTC to issue thebroadcast master planas afive-year guideline for broadcastingbusiness and spectrumpolicy.Also, as a successor of the NTC, theNBTC is responsiblefortelecoms sector as well as broadcastingsector.
