Osuperaquecimento do fluido serve para garantirque chegue 100% vaporao compressor, ele não deve ser muito alto,pois reduziria orendimento do equipamento e traria prejuízos aocompressor e nemmuito baixo pois, poderia chegar em forma líquidaao compressor,danificando-o. O sub-resfriamento é a condição emque o fluido estámais frio que a temperatura mínima (temperaturade saturação)necessária para evitar que entre em ebulição.Osubresfriamento éimportante pois com ele se evita que o líquidorefrigerante entre noestado gasoso antes que ele chegue para aoevaporador.
