The first four Factions are available tochoosefrom whichare Alphaguard, Razorcorp, Dawnlight, andShadowcell andthey wereknown as the core factions. The next four"FringeFactions" will beadded in the future which includesCloudecho,Edgehunter,Bloodcrown, and Waterborne. Alphaguard was thefirstofficialfaction to form as the need arose to protect thecitizensfrom therising tide of criminal activity. The law enforcerswerebecomingoverwhelmed and the governments underwhelming responseleftthecity on edge. Backed by elite law enforcersandex-militarysoldiers, many of the strongest fighters in thecitywould join theAlphaguard. Although their goal of orderseemedgenuine, the powerto control things through force was stillnotwidely accepted bythe masses. Razorcorp controlled the flowofmoney. They weregenerally disliked as are most majorcorporationsbut there wasgood reason to consider them villainous.Although theywere full oflegitimate enterprises, they operated orhad their handin many ofthe illegal ones as well. They used alltheir power andwealth tobuy controlling interests in land andproperty whilegainingtechnological advances in weaponry. Theybought and paidoffwhoever they needed. They held other corporationshostage intheirbusiness dealings as their massive conglomerate tookover thecity.Dawnlight was formed out of a desire to bring thosewithstrongspiritual believes together but turned out to be muchmorethanthat. They used their donations to enhance theirphysicalfeaturesthrough technology as their core beliefs told themthatthey wouldone day become angels. Their members began toaddmechanical wings,halos, and other angelic features to theirbodiesas a way toadvance towards their gods. Their faction needed aholywar tofight and other factions were making it easy for themtodeclarethem sinners. Dawnlight could be considered more of acultby thecommunity. As the other three Factions madethemselvesvisible tothe world, there were others who wanted to takecontrolin a morelow key fashion. Shadowcell was spawned as analmostvigilantegroup who used deception as their modus operandi.Theyworkedexclusively with the underground members of the communitytotradein secrets. They played the spy game and used their stealthtorulethe darkness. Shadowcell was the closest thing toanindependentintelligence agency operating in the black.
