Anansetrieddesperately to takeleave of his father-in-law but had to bepolite.Soon he was insuch pain that he could no longer tolerate thehotbeans. When hetried to lift his hat, the beans spilled out overhisfancy sandalsand those of the father-in-law, who was shockedtodiscover thathis son-in-law was a thief. Ananse disgraced hiswifeand had torun away in shame. His scalded head became bald asaresult of suchgreed.
