Al Madina NewspaperEstablishment and Starting offAl Madina Newspaper was established by Ali & Osman Hafizinthe city of Almadina Al-Munawwarah, on Thursday, the 26 ofMuharram1356H corresponding to the 8th of April 1937G. 1n 1383Hcorresponding to 1963G, the ownership of the newspaperwastransferred to Al Madina Press Group. Through more than halfacentury, the paper was developed from a single daily newspaper toaprominent media mix aiming to satisfy Saudi and otherreadersinside and outside the country.The First Newspaper to Publish a PhotoAt that early time, Al Madina was released in 4 pages only;onweekly basis. It was the first newspaper to publishphotographs.Since then, the newspaper has been concerned ofenlightening itsreaders with news and articles of knowledge andculture of allkind. Amin Madani was the first editor-in-chief of AlMadina news,however, Osman Hafiz on 19 Rabie Althani, the owner ofthenewspaper became the chief editor with a partnership ineditingresponsibilities from his brother Ali Hafiz who joined inthe 26thof Jamadi Alawwal 1358H. Both brothers became then theowners andchief editors of the paper. The newspaper set forward tobe issuedtwice a week. The headquarters of the newspaper was in thecity ofal-Madina Al Munawwara till the beginning of 1383H when onthe 4thof Safar the same year the Newspaper shifted its location tobeissued from Jeddah. Hisham Hafiz became theeditor-in-chief,Mohammed Ali Hafiz the editing manager and KhalidHafiz wasappointed an administration manager. In Jeddah AlmadinaNews becamea daily newspaper with one day off .The first issue inJeddah wasreleased on the 27th of Rajab 1382H.At that time al Madina newspaper began sponsoring nationalprojectsand ideas such as the call for the expansion of The TwoHolyMosques, and The call for a national university. What editorsof AlMadina wrote in its pages on this issue led latter toconstructingKing Abdul Aziz University by our government.Al Madina Press Group: Facts and FiguresDuring the current period as an establishment and a pressgroupAl Madina is highly developed.
