In either case,thesampling rateto convert from a digital signal to anacousticsignal is 44.1 kHz.In carrier tone mode, the app simplytransmitsthe waveformcos(2πfct) for a 400 millisecond duration atauser-specified carrierfrequency. The user can specify anycarrierfrequency to explore theeffects of sampling and aliasing.In thetext transmission mode, theapp provides a digitalcommunicationtransmission modulated to aprogrammable acousticcarrierfrequency. The transmitter implementsBPSK or QPSK datamodulation,user-specified pulse shaping and symbolrate, a choiceof pilotsymbols for synchronization, and a datapayload fixed at 50ASCIIcharacters.
