Ludo boardSpecial areas of the Ludo board are typically colouredbrightyellow, green, red, and blue. Each player is assigned acolour andhas four tokens of matching colour (originally bone discsbutnowadays tokens made of cardboard or plastic). The board in Ludoisnormally square with a cross-shaped game track, with each armofthe cross consisting of three columns of squares—usuallysixsquares per column. The middle columns usually have fivesquarescoloured, and these represent a player's home column. Asixthcoloured square not on the home column is a player'sstartingsquare. At the centre of the board is a large finishingsquareoften composed of triangles in the four colours atop theplayers'home columns – thus forming "arrows" pointing to thefinish.Ludo RulesTwo, three, or four may play Ludo. At the beginning of thegame,each player's tokens are out of play and staged in one of thelargecorner areas of the board in the player's colour (calledtheplayer's yard ). When able to, the players will enter theirtokensone per time on their respective starting squares, andproceed torace them clockwise around the board along the game track(the pathof squares not part of any player's home column).
