Rudiments are basic exercises for drummers meant to increase yourspeed, ability and creativity when playing the drums. But it's justnot enough to play along a single tempo track to master them.Drumate lets you take advantage of the processing power in yourphone to generate a vast amount of training patterns from a singlerudiment. This makes it a lightweight and efficient app, since itneeds very little storage space, and it allows you to experimentwith three practice modes: • Constant: practice the rudiment at aconstant speed, with or without rests. This mode is useful whengetting used to the rudiment structure and feel. • Steps: play forsets of steps, each at its own tempo. You can go from a slow to afast tempo, or the other way round. The length of the steps isadjustable and rests can be included as well. Use this mode to pushyou further when gaining speed. • Up and Down: start at an initialtempo that will be increased on each bar, until it gets to amaximum value and then decreases to the initial value. This modeallows you to practice from "open to close to open" and is great tocover a wide range of speed to increase your resistance and speed.The rudiments can be filtered by type, and you can mark rudimentsas Favorites so you can filter them and focus on sets of rudiments.It is a great tool for musicians, specially drummers andpercussionists. I hada set of music samples I wanted to mix up and I didn't have anysoftware available so I made a program to mix them up. My friendcame over and was playing the program for over an hour. So Ithought It would be cool to upload it to the internet. So I boughtthe ButtonBeats.com domain name and uploaded a few differentprograms I made. A short time later I made the piano. I put thesong Jingle Bells up to play on the piano. Then people began tosubmit many songs for the piano. After about a year I got my friendEverett involved in producing the site and getting the name outthere. From there we had a friend Ariel that made music. Ariel,Everett and I spent many afternoons recording sound samples,editingthe samples, designing ui, making beats, ordering beats, designingt shirts, stickers, programming and barbecuing.
