والناشر والسياسي الإنجليزي شارلز بريستويش سكوت، المولودفيمدينة باث ببريطانيا في 26 أكتوبر 1846 والمتوفي في الفاتحجانفي1932.عمل شارلز سكوت محرّرا في صحيفة the Manchester Guardian من 1872إلى1929، والتي تحوّلت فيما بعد إلى صحيفة the Guardian الشهيرة،وأصبحسكوت مالكا للصحيفة منذ 1907 إلى وفاته.كما كان سكوت نائبا مستقلا في البرلمان البريطاني.قال سكوت مقولة “الخبر مقدّس والتعليق حرّ” العام 1921 بمناسبةالذكرىالمئوية لانطلاق the Guardian، حيث كتب مقالا ذكّر فيه بأنالمهمّةالأوّلية لأي صحيفة هي نقل الأخبار، وفيه كتب المقولة الشهيرةالتيباتت فيما بعد القاعدة الذهبية في الإعلام.لم يكن سكوت مسيحي الدّيانة، حيث كان من طائفة تسمى “الموحّدون”،وهمالذين يعتقدون أن المسيح ليس إلها وأن الإله واحد وليسثلاثة.بقي سكوت محررا في the Guardian 57 عاما، وفي العام 1929 بلغالثالثةوالثمانين من العمر وكان عليه أن يسلّم المشعل لابنه تد سكوت،الذيخلفه على رأس الصحيفة.من أقوال شارلز سكوت:“الحقيقة مثل أي شيء آخر، يجب ان تختصر”“دور المكتب الرئيسي للجريدة، هو جلب الأخبار وتقديمها علىماهيتهاوحقيقتها، دون أن تشوبها آراء أو إضافات”الحمام الزاجلاعتمد موقع “زاد دي زاد” الحمام الزاجل رمزا له لما لهذا الطائرمنارتباط وثيق بـ”الخبر”.يُطلق على الحمام الزاجل وصف “حمام الرسائل” أو “سيد الحمام”، وهوواحدمن 500 نوع من الحمام، استأنسه الإنسان ودجَّنه، وهو يتميزبعودته دوماإلى موطنه، فكان يسافر من بلد إلى آخر، وفي قدمه رسالةيحملها عائداًإلى موطنه.يمتاز بحدة الذكاء وقدرة فائقة على الطيران وغريزة قوية يهتدي بهاإلىهدفه وموطنه، ويرى البعض أن “زاجل” كلمة عربية الأصل تعني “الرامي”أو“الدافع”، وهناك رأي يقول إن أصلها “فارسي” وتعني قائد العسكر أوقائدالجند.وعندما نقل الغرب تربية الحمام الزاجل عن العرب استخدموا اللفظنفسهZajel، وأصبح هذا الاسم هو المتداول عالميا.وجاء في التوراة بأن النبي نوح عليه السلام أرسل هذا الحمام ليبحثعنأرض يرسو عليها بسفينته، وفد قام بتلك المهمة خير قيام، إذ عادوهويحمل غصن زيتون دلال على انتهاء الطوفان.واستعمل الإغريق الحمام الزاجل في توصيل الرسائل، فذكر المؤرخبلينيوسأن نتائج مسابقات الألعابل الأولمبية كانت ترسل إلى المدنالبعيدةبواسطة الزاجل.ويقول وول ديورانت في “قصة الحضارة” بأن الموصل بالعراق، ووصل الأمر بالخلفاءالفاطميينإلى أن أفردوا له ديوانا وجرائد بأنسابه، وكان لكل خليفةمسؤول خبيرفي شؤون الحمام يُدعى “صاحب الحمام” ويُعدّ من كبارمسؤوليالدولة.وأول من اعتنى بهذا الحمام من الملوك ونقله من الموصل السلطاننورالدينبن زنكي (565 هجرية)، ففي عهده نُظمت أول خطوط سير الحمامالزاجل علىنسق البريد العادي به موظفون وأعدّ له مطارات (محطات) ذاتأبراج في كل21 كيلومتر، وكان حارس كل مركز حال وصول الحمامة إلىالبرج يقيد ساعةوصولها إليه وذهابها على ظهر الرسالة التيتحملها.وفي العام 1840 رتبت شركة “هافاس” في باريس التراسل بالحمام بينلندنوبروكسل وباريس ونجح الأمر. وفي الحرب العالمية الأولى(1914-1918)استخدم الحلفاء نحو 100 ألف حمامة موزعة على جيوش البروالبحر، وكانالحمام في خدمة جهاز المخابرات.وقدّرت البحرية البريطانية دور الحمام الزاجل فأنشأت حكومتهادائرةتولت استخدام هذا الحمام شديد الذكاء للقيام بمهماتاستعلامية.ولقيت حمامت تقديرا كبيرا منها حمامة كانت تُسمى “الصديقة العزيزة”أدتخدمات جليلة منها نقلها أخبارا عن جنود وضباط مصابين جرى إنقاذهمفيمابعد، وفي المرة الأخيرة التي طارت “الصديقة العزيزة” وجه إليهاالألماننيرانا إلا أنها نجت حاملة رسالة خطيرة من جنود أمريكيينكانوا في حالةيأس شديد بسبب حصار الألمان لهم وكانت نتيجة الرسالة أننجا الجنود منالمأزق غير أن الحمامة سقطت فيما
