TheInternationalClassification of Diseases (ICD) is the standarddiagnostic toolfor epidemiology, health management and clinicalpurposes. It is used toclassify diseasesand other health problems recorded on many typesof health andvital records including death certificates and healthrecords. ICD-10 was endorsed bytheForty-third World Health Assembly in May 1990 and came into useinWHO Member States as from 1994.
