After completing his primary education at schools inhishometown near Chicago, he joined the University of Chicago wherehestudied Biology, Arabic and Islamic Civilization. It wasduringthis period that he began his study of sacred knowledge,studyingArabic grammar (nahw), Hanafi Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh underulama(scholars) in Chicago. In 1994 Shaykh Husain also begantraining inIslamic spirituality under Shaykh Zulfiqar Ahmad, aleading shaykhin this field.After obtaining his undergraduate degree, Shaykh Husainenrolledin the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University ofChicago.Along with his medical studies, he continued his studies ofsacredknowledge. He was blessed withtheclose company of his Shaykh, learning the science ofthepurification of the heart. These ayaat oftheQur'anhave also been mentioned with a slight variation in thenumberofayaat, in the book “Al Qawlul Jameel”, wherein it hasalsobeenmentioned that there are these thirty three ayah which wardofftheeffects of Sihr (witch-craft), and that they are aprotectionagainst theShayatin (devils), thieves and harmful wild beasts.Whenever anyone suggested the reading of these ayah toavictim,they had to either indicate these verses in the respective booksorwritethem down, Therefore it was felt that it would simplify this taskiftheseayah were printed separately.It should be considered, and borne in mind that theeffectivenessofthe recital of these ayaat and duas as a formula forspecificpurposesdepends on the sincerity and; undisturbed and earnest devotionofthereader.
