3D Chemical Bonding Simulation 1.0
sifnt
The sliders modify the relativeelectronegativities of the two elements being bonded. This leads todifference kinds of primary bonding (metallic, ionic, and covalent)and secondary forces (disperson, dipole-dipole, hydrogen bonding).Click and drag to pull particles around. Notice the behaviour ofindividual electrons in the different bonding types. This simulation is intended as an educational tool rather thanan accurate physical simulation.
Cloud Chamber Simulation 1.1
sifnt
Designed for use on tablets in Physicsclassrooms, Cloud Chamber Simulation displays the ionization tracksformed by charged particles in vapor. Touch and drag to change theviewing angle. As well as cosmic background radiation, you can select an alpha, beta or proton source and move it around the chamber. You can alsoturn on magnetic or electric fields to see how they affect thevarious particles. You can also enable or disable the visualcondensation effect.Current particles simulated:- alpha (short, thick tracks)- beta (thin, meandering tracks as the particles scatter fromcollisions with air)- muon (thin and straight, but may bend or fork to indicate decayor collision)- proton (straight with small 'delta rays' emitted along thetrack)This app is aimed to educate rather than be totally physicallyaccurate, but feel free to inform the developer if you feel thereis a notable inconsistency between the simulation and reality.NEW IN VERSION 1.1:- Improved performance of effects. Graphics settings lower thanFantastic now have different particle effects.- Added an informative loading screen. This can be accessed fromthe Settings screen.- Added a magnetic field mode which uses real world sensor data (sofor example you can hold a magnet near the device). Warning: thisis experimental and might not act realistically on alldevices.- Added new Hint options to display field data or live info aboutparticles.
