Barry White (born Barrence Eugene CarterinGalveston, Texas, USA; September 12, 1944 - July 4, 2003) wasanAmerican singer-songwriter and record producer, known for hishitsoul and rnb singles such as "Can't Get Enough of Your Love,Babe"as well as his long, mutli-decade career. White grew up inhishometown in Galveston, Texas, singing gospel songs with hismotherand finding himself strongly drawn to piano playing. Shortlyaftermoving from Texas to the 'South Central' area of LosAngeles,California, White went even further into music.He made his recording debut at the tender age of 11,playingpiano on Jesse Belvin's "Goodnight My Love". He made hisfirstrecord when he was 16 with a group called the Upfronts. Thesongwas called "Little Girl" on a local L.A. label calledLummtoneRecords. He later worked for various independent labelsaround LosAngeles, landing an A&R position with Bob Keane, themanresponsible for the first pop recordings by Sam Cooke. One ofhislabels, Mustang, was hot at the time with a group called theBobbyFuller Four in 1966. White was hired for forty dollars a weekto doA&R for Keane's family of labels: Del-Fi, Mustang andBronco.During this time, White flirted with the idea of being arecordingartist, making a record for Bronco called All in the Runof a Day.But he chose to stick with his A&R duties. One of thefirstgroups he worked with was the Versatiles who later changedtheirname to The 5th Dimension. BiographyThe Faint is an indie rock/dance punk band. Formed inOmaha,Nebraska in 1995 The Faint was originally known as NormanBailer, areference to Norman Mailer. Madilyn’s first musical instrument washervoice which she began developing from her crib. At age nine,shetook up the piano in preparation for becoming a drummer. Sheplayeddrums for a few years before picking up her dad’s acousticguitarwhile camping at a summer music festival. It’s safe to saythatmusic is a natural extension of who Madilyn is.From the beginning Madilyn displayed deep care and concernforothers. By as early as age seven, she was using songwriting asaway to express the joys and sorrows she saw people go throughinlife.Madilyn knew she was onto something when a woman with tearsbrimmingin her eyes approached her after hearing one of her songs.The womanwas not only touched by her performance but amazed thatMadilyn hadwritten the song herself at such a young age. She grew up inafamily of seven kids in a tiny town just over seven squaremilesnear the Southern border of the state. BiographyFormed in 1995 by Sister Bliss, Faithless was a London,England,United Kingdom-based group of musicians whose music isdescribed byone of their band members as a cross between trip-hopand techno.The four original members of Faithless werevocalist/rapper MaxiJazz, keyboardist/producer Sister Bliss,instrumentalist/vocalistJamie Catto and keyboardist/producer RolloArmstrong. Jamie Catto(now in 1 Giant Leap) left after their secondalbum, Sunday 8PM,which was released in 1998.
