(1972-1979), theintrepidparamedics Roy and Johnny would be toned out for a call.Arrivingon scene, they would invariably remove their trustyBioPhone andcall up Rampart Hospital, where the on-call doc wouldguide themthrough the process of starting an IV D5W andtransporting thepatient. This app is for the budding EMT-B. Itplaces you in theposition of the Rampart docs. Your EMT-B iscalling from the sceneand asking for instruction. Your EMT can beordered to: Confirmscene safety; Assess the patient (area-by-area);Take vital signs(BP, pulse, etc.); Check blood sugar; Start CPR;Provide oxygen;insert OPAs or NPAs as needed; Use an AED; Ventilatewith BVM;Control C-spine; Immobilize extremities (splint) orpatient(backboard); Assist the patient with Nitro, Epi-pen, orMDI;Administer oral glucose; Administer activated charcoal;Controlbleeding; Transport the patient This app works best with anaturaltext-to-speech voice such as IVONA or SVOX. It can be runthroughspeakerphone or in a privacy mode. It includes an in-appscenarioeditor to modify existing scenarios or add new scenarios.At theend of the scenario an optional Debrief Mode providesfeedback onhow well you handled the scene and patient.
