This version has extra creatures and extra backgrounds - somemakingthe creatures very hard to find. There is also anothertouch-countscreen with two creatures to be counted one after theother. 'Howmany stars' now gives you your top five scores.

Counting Creatures is the counting game for children agedbetween4 and 6. The game uses pictures of real creatures to teachchildrenhow to count up to 10. There are also interesting facts tolearnabout the creatures. Meet Bessie Beetle, Gregory Grasshopperandtheir friends.

Counting Creatures turns the task of learning to count into afungame so that children enjoy numbers from an early age. Childrenloverepetition – they like having the same story read over andoveragain, so adding up over and over again is fun for them andthevariations in numbers and creatures will keep theirattention.

Counting creatures has four different ways to count: countthecreatures and press the correct number; count the creaturesandpress the correct word; touch each insect up to the correctnumber;and touch first one creature then the other to learn themany waystwo numbers add up to ten.

The screens have various numbers of creature - count howmanythere are and press the correct button. The game tells you ifyouare correct and you can try again if you are wrong or go toanotherchallenge with a different number and type of creature.

If you get the right answer first time you get a gold starandcan go into the top five scores.

Children also like learning facts – think of their interestindinosaurs and how they pick up and remember all thelongcomplicated names. ‘Meet the creatures’ has details ofthecreatures encountered when playing the game and thissectionencourages them to know about them.
