Binder Explorer is a way for developers and users alike toexplore relationships between applications and Android systemservices exposed via Binder. It also illustrates the relationshipsbetween the various applications through the services they exposeto each other.

The display is updated dynamically when applications are startedand killed, and when services are enabled and disabled.

Left click on processes and services opens a dialog box thatgives a detailed textual description of the links between theselected component and the other parts of the system.

This is an early version of the application and functionality islimited but it will nonetheless be interesting to people wanting tounderstand how Android's Binder works. This application *requires*root access to your device but it might not work at all on yourdevice if the data required for it isn't present or accessible(i.e. this depends on your kernel's configuration and/or thefilesystem access rules). Also note that the backend of thisapplication can be taxing on the device and low-powered devicesmight not return the data for display very quickly.

This app's sources and those of its node.js-based backend areavailable under the Apache Software License on github:

***WARNING***: This app does NOT display itsoutput on the device's screen. Its output is only accessiblethrough a web browser running on your computer. If you want to viewthe processes on the device's screen, have a look at other apps onthe store.Process Explorer enables you to view the processes running onyour device and, in the case of Dalvik-based apps, theircorresponding logcat output without cluttering your device's maindisplay. Instead, Process Explorer runs a node.js-based process inthe background that listens to a socket connection. By pointingyour computer's web browser to that socket on the device -- sayusing "adb forward" -- you can see all the processes running inreal-time along with CPU and memory usage graphs. Basic controlsallow you to control filtering and refresh rates.Note that the present release is the first public release ofthis app and its corresponding node.js-based backend. ***Expectthings to break***. We feel good enough about this version to starthaving early adopters play with it and give us feedback. There area lot of things that could and will be made better.Oh, and one last thing.
