Our Strike and Dip application turnsyoursmartphone or tablet into essentially a brunton compassallowingyou to determine the strike and dip of planar and linearfeatureswith one click. The Strike and Dip application also servesas atool within our Geology Sample Collector application, but wehavealso enabled it as a separate application for those that wishtouse it outside of our Geology application. In addition,thelongitude, latitude, altitude, address (if available), and dateandtime are collected for each reading. Magnetic field data canalsobe recorded. Images of minerals, individual formations,rocktextures, structures, etc. can also be taken along withvideoand/or audio in case additional information about outcropsneeds tobe documented. As with all of our applications, additionalfieldscan be created if needed or default fields (such astemperature andpressure) can be hidden.
