Rummy is a card game in which each player tries to lay down cardsingroups of three or more. Basics : Standard deck of 52 cards isused.Cards in each suit rank, from low tohigh:A-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-J-Q-K . Each player is dealt a hand oftencards. One card is placed face up on the table to start thediscardpile, and the remainder of the deck is placed face down toform thestock. Melding is taking a combination of cards from yourhand, andplacing it face up in front of you on the table, where itstays.There are two kinds of combination which can be melded:sequencesand groups. Sequence consists of three or more cards ofthe samesuit in consecutive order, such as -2-3 or 10-J-Q-K. Groupis threeor four cards of the same rank, such as 7-7-7 or K-K-K-K.Layingoff is adding a card from your hand to a meld already on thetable.The cards added to a meld must make another valid meld.Discardingis playing a card from your hand on top of the discardpile.Players take alternate turns. Each turn consists of Draw,Melding,Laying off and Discard. The Draw You must begin by takingone cardfrom either the top of the Stock or the top card on thediscardpile, and adding it to your hand. The discard pile is faceup, soyou can see in advance what you are getting. The stock isfacedown. Melding If you have a valid group or sequence in yourhand,you may lay such combination face up on the table in front ofyou.Laying off If you wish, you may add cards to groups orsequencespreviously melded by yourself or others. You may not layoff anycards on other player melds until you have laid down atleast onemeld of your own. The Discard At the end of your turn, onecardmust be discarded from your hand and placed on top of thediscardpile face up. You are not allowed to end the turn bydiscarding thesame card that you pick from the discard pile. Youcan discard thatcard at a later turn. If the stock pile has runout, the discardpile is turned over, to form a new stock, and playcontinues.Discard pile can be reused two times. After that hand isfinishedand score is calculated for each player. Scoring When aplayer goesout of cards, other player add up the value of all thecards stillremaining in the hand. Face cards (K,Q,J) are worth 10points each,Aces are worth 1 point each, Number Cards are worththeir facevalue. The total value of all the cards in the hand isadded to thewinner's cumulative score. If the winner can go out ina singleturn by melding or laying off their entire hand the scoreisdoubled. When someone reaches 100, 300 or 500 points(optionPoints) the game is finished.
