About Osho:

Chandra Mohan Jain, also known as Acharya Rajneesh from the1960s onwards, as Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh during the 1970s and1980s, and as Osho from 1989, was an Indian mystic, guru andspiritual teacher.

Osho was one of the most famed as well as the most controversialspiritual leaders of his time. He came to be known as ‘AcharyaRajneesh’ in 1960s, assumed the name ‘Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh’during the 1970s and 1980s and called himself ‘Osho’ in 1989. Hewas a professor of Philosophy and traveled extensively to variousparts of India, giving lectures on Secularism and Gandhi. Founderof Osho International Meditation Center, he devised a number ofmeditation techniques and came to be known as a spiritualtherapist.

Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh, later known as "Osho," was born December11, 1931, in Kuchwada, India. After graduating from college andclaiming to have found enlightenment, in 1970, he introduced thepractice of "dynamic meditation," became a spiritual teacher andbegan to attract a significant following.
