This educational game aims through the use of digitalapplicationsat the participation of primary school children,assisted by theirteachers, parents and guardians, to develop a“greenconsciousness”, which means the knowledge about theenvironment andthe Culture of a specific region, as well as theability to managesustainably its natural and cultural resources.

The digital applications are not meant to substitute theacademicknowledge nor the teaching process within an academicenvironment,but rather to attract children’s interest in a“stimulating” way, soas to pass on to them properly adaptedcentral messages.

For that purpose, the “range and depth” of theprovidedinformation remains focused, so that adult users can enrichtheirchildren’s knowledge primarily by stimulating theirimagination andusing the applications merely as an introductorytool toknowledge.

The applications were developed in relation to realregions,which children can visit either with their school class orwiththeir parents-guardians.

The games run on smartphones or/and tables with Ios orAndroidfirmware.

The texts, the questions and the overall approach are basedonprinted sources, oral traditions transmitted by old localpeople,as well as on Internet sources.

The digital educational applications were conceived by LesvosLocalDevelopment Company ETAL SA, in cooperation with theDevelopmentAgencies of Heraklion, Larnaca, Paphos, and theMunicipality ofArchanes-Asterousia.
