English Romanian Dictionary is very simple, easy to use andcomprehensive. It contains half a million words - basic vocabulary,proper nouns, and technical terms in any areas: engineering,sciences, medicine etc. Allows translation from English to Romanianand from Romanian to English (change the direction clicking theflags button found at the left of the edit field). The database isstored in your phone, tablet, TV or other device, no internetconnection is required (there is an off-line database). Clickingthe results, the terms are read by a voice found in your phone tohear their pronunciation (the voice can be changed in Settings).Clicking long the results or the button at the right of them, acontext menu appears. In this context menu you can choose to add aresult into a vocabulary, to hear the English part pronounced by avoice, to hear the word spelled by the same voice, to copy theresult into clipboard. It is possible to search words by voice,saying words in English or in Romanian. The searched words aresaved optionally in a log. Lexical resources In the context menu ofa result there are also many lexical resources like: phonetictranscriptions (IPA and Arpabet), English definitions, synonyms,antonyms, homophones, hypernyms, hyponyms, rhymes, frequentfollowers, frequent predecessors, word frequency per million. Theselexical resources are offered by Datamuse API (datamuse.com. Inshort, this dictionary can be used also as a thesaurus. The lexicalresources require an active connection to the Internet. Myvocabulary module This is a module which allows you to addindividual words and their explanations into a separate database.The first option in the context menu which appears after a longclick on a result is Add to My vocabulary. It is possible to addinto an existing section or to create a new one. In the main windowof My vocabulary module there is possible to view results bysections, to add, edit or delete individual records or an entiresection and other useful options. The sections can be exported orimported. There are also predefined sections like Animals, Colors,Tools which can be imported. Irregular verbs module In this moduleyou can view lists of irregular verbs, you can solve quizzes. It ispossible the customization of tests choosing which forms to fill.After a test the system gives you a mark. The history of lastmarks, the average of all marks or of the last five can be seen.There is also an online table for score boards and statistics, youcan set a nickname to appear publicly on the web page of thedictionary. Android TV Version Starting with version 4.0 (January2017) this dictionary is available also for Android TV. It wasoptimized to be used with a D-pad (five keys navigation - 4 arrowsand an enter). All the modules and options are available forAndroid TV. This way you can enjoy a dictionary on your big screenusing just a remote control. On Android TV, this app is consideredas premium, no ads are displayed yet. Incidentally, we can say thatthis is the first dictionary compatible with Android TV. There aremany options which can be enabled or disabled in settings: - Changesearch mode, all occurrences or full words only; - choose apreferred English voice variant (like British, American, Indianetc.); - Keep screen awake; - Choose the separator between wordsand explanations: new line, dash, hyphen or vertical bar; - Playsounds for some events; - Shake device for a new search; - Choosetext size; - Block the portrait orientation. There is a Premiumversion which removes the ads, this way the application worksbetter. Go in main menu of the dictionary and choose Premiumversion to make the purchase. Paying a small among, the Premiumversion will be available forever, even after a re-installation ofthe dictionary. The payed version is available for all devicessigned-in with the same Google account.
