介護福祉士（かいごふくしし、英: Certified CareWorker）は、社会福祉士、精神保健福祉士と並ぶ、福祉系三大国家資格（通称：三福祉士）の一つである。社会福祉士及び介護福祉士法で位置づけられた、社会福祉業務（身体介護・生活援助等）に携わる人の国家資格である。和製英語で、ケアワーカー(CW)と呼称されている。

社会福祉士及び介護福祉士法（第二条第二項）において「介護福祉士」とは、第四十二条第一項の登録を受け、介護福祉士の名称を用いて、専門的知識及び技術をもつて、身体上又は精神上の障害があることにより日常生活を営むのに支障がある者につき心身の状況に応じた介護（喀痰吸引その他のその者が日常生活を営むのに必要な行為であつて、医師の指示の下に行われるもの（厚生労働省令で定めるものに限る。以下「喀痰吸引等」という。）を含む。）を行い、並びにその者及びその介護者に対して介護に関する指導を行うこと（以下「介護等」という。）を業とする者をいう。名称独占資格の一つである。

受験資格[編集]

1.厚生労働大臣の指定する養成施設を修了し登録名簿に登録する。

2.介護実務経験3年以上（1095日）以上、実働日数が540日以上で介護福祉士国家試験に合格し登録名簿に登録する。
会社や施設から発行される実務経験証明書の原本とコピーが必要（勤務先複数の場合、勤務先ごとの発行が必要である。）
無資格者は450時間、ホームヘルパー3級所持者は450時間、ホームヘルパー2級所持者は320時間、ホームヘルパー1級所持者は95時間、介護職員基礎研修修了者は50時間の実務者研修を修了した者は実技免除で、介護福祉士試験は学科のみとなる。
老人福祉センターなどで実務経験を積む必要がある。
指定介護療養型医療施設に詳細されている。

3.高等学校又は中等教育学校（それぞれ専攻科を含む）において、福祉に関する所定の教科目（若しくは科目）及び単位数を修めて卒業し介護福祉士国家試験に合格し登録名簿に登録する（介護福祉士国家試験は合格基準が問題の総得点の60%程度を基準（絶対評価）としている）。但し『介護サービスの基盤強化のための介護保険法等の一部を改正する法律』による『社会福祉士及び介護福祉士法』改正のため、2016年（平成28年）度（第29回）国家試験から厚生労働大臣が指定する養成施設を修了し名簿登録する取得方法が廃止され、介護実務経験3年の者は、通学のスクーリングまたは通信教育で合計450時間（所持資格による免除あり）の実務者研修受講が義務づけられ、介護福祉士資格取得を希望する全ての者は、実技試験免除事項はあるもののマークシート形式筆記試験を必ず受験しなければならない。
