A Igreja Presbiteriana do Calváriofoiorganizada no ano do centenário da Igreja Presbiteriana deSorocabaem 1969. No início desse ano, algumas pessoas passaram a sereunirna casa dos irmãos Walmir de Campos e Esdras de Moraes, e, jánomês de março, contavam com trinta pessoas, exigindo-se aprocurapor um espaço maior. Pensou-se em alugar uma sala pequena,modesta,mas para surpresa de todos chegou a notícia de que umvelhoedifício na rua Monsenhor Soares estava para alugar. Era umamplosalão térreo, com sete grandes salas no pavimento superior,sendoque duas delas foram adaptadas, provendo-se lugar para centoecinquenta pessoas. Os irmãos Paulo Breda Filho e FranciscoSócratesde Oliveira Camargo assumiram o encargo de alugar o imóvel,até queo Presbitério de Sorocaba se mostrou favorável à organizaçãodanova igreja.

No dia 06 de abril do mesmo ano, realizou-se o primeiro cultonolocal, às 9h30min da manhã. Era domingo de Páscoa e conquentaequatro pessoas estavam presentes. A Igreja, no entanto,foiorganizada oficialmente em 1º de junho de 1969, com trinta etrêsmembros comungantes (adultos) e onze não comungantes(crianças),formando-se, assim, em Sorocaba, mais uma família da fé,a "famíliacalvariana". Já no culto de organização, foi recebidopelaprofissão de fé e batismo o Sr. Romeu Vergili - a igreja, noato desua organização, já estava crescendo!

Com o passar dos anos, a igreja cresceusubstancialmente,passando por ela diversos pastores, ministros doevangelhodedicados a edificar uma igreja saudável, até os diasatuais.

"Apresentar Jesus às pessoas, integrando-as na família dafé,ensinando-as a crescer espiritualmente e capacitando-as paraoministério, a fim de juntos glorificarmos a Deus."

Evangelização, Comunhão, Discipulado, Ministério e Adoração.

Nosso Compromisso:
O compromisso com o "grande mandamento" (Mt. 22:37-40) e a"grandecomissăo" (Mt. 28:19-20) fará crescer um cristăo forte e umaigrejasaudável.

Edificar pessoas para que o Senhor continue edificandoSuaIgreja.

The Presbyterian ChurchofCalvary was organized in the year of the centenary ofthePresbyterian Church of Sorocaba in 1969. Earlier this year,somepeople began to gather in the house of the brothers Walmirfieldsand Ezra de Moraes, and since the month of March, Theycountedthirty people, demanding the search for a larger space. Hewasthought of renting a small room, modest, but to everyone'ssurprisecame the news that an old building in Bishop Soares streetwas forrent. It was a large downstairs lounge, with seven largeroomsupstairs, two of which were adapted, providing up place forahundred and fifty people. The brothers Paul and BredaFilhoFrancisco Socrates de Oliveira Camargo took charge to renttheproperty until the Sorocaba Presbytery was in favor oforganizingthe new church.

On April 06 of that year, it was held the first service inplace,at 9:30 am in the morning. It was Easter Sunday andconquenta-fourpeople were present. The Church, however, wasofficially organizedon June 1, 1969, with thirty-three communicantmembers (adults) andeleven non-communicants (kids), forming thusin Sorocaba, anotherfamily of faith, " calvariana family. " Itcult organization, wasreceived by the profession of faith andbaptism Mr. Romeo Vergili -the church, upon its organization, wasalready growing!

Over the years, the church has grown substantially, goingthroughit many pastors, ministers of the gospel dedicated tobuilding ahealthy church, to the present day.

Statement of Purpose:
"Presenting Jesus to people, integrating them in the familyoffaith, teaching them to grow spiritually and empowering them totheministry in order to glorify God together."

Our five purposes:
Evangelism, Fellowship, Discipleship, Ministry and Worship.

Our Commitment:
The commitment to the "great commandment" (Matthew 22: 37-40)andthe "great commission" (Mt. 28: 19-20) will grow strong andhealthya Christian church.

Our Target:
Build people to the Lord continue building His Church.
