Description

1996년 봄 무산본각 스승님께서 혜원(慧源. Mr. Jeffrey Evans.미국인 변호사)을
최초의 제자로 거두시고 전법을 시작한 이래 직장인·주부·학생 등
일상적인 사회생활을 영위하면서 수행을 하고자 하는 이들이 자발적으로 모여 만든 생활 속의 수행 공동체.

이들은 무산본각 스승님을 만나 스승님께서 저술한
《마음닦기》와 《깨달음에 이르는 붓다의 수행법》에서 밝힌
여섯 단계의 수행체계에 따라 붓다께서 직접 제자들을 가르치셨던 정통적인
지관(止觀)을 쌍운(雙運)하는 수행법을 배우고 익히며 이를 생활 속에서 실천하고
널리 오래도록 전승시키기 위해 이 모임을 만들었다.

목포에 무산승가의 수행 도량인 ‘무산정사 無山精舍 MUSAN ASHRAM’ 가 있다.

불기 2549년(서기 2005년) 불탄일에 창건된 무산승가 중안선원.
재가수행운동의 근본도량이자 붓다의 정통 수행법을 전수하는 도량으로서
